Time to end Black History Month? 2013

Here we are again, the 1st of February and the start of Black History Month, and once again I am going to speak my mind on Black History Month. Here is a re-post from last year regarding my thoughts about Black History Month, I re-post the very same article every year.

Nothing has changed in MY estimation! Enjoy…

Time to end Black History Month? 2013

Should Black History Month itself fade into history?

Many have long argued that African-American history should be incorporated into year-round education. Now, claims that Black History Month is outdated are gaining a new potency, as schools diversify their curricula and President Barack Obama’s election opens a new chapter in the nation’s racial journey.

“If Obama’s election means anything, it means that African-American history IS American history and should be remembered and recognized every day of the year,” says Stephen Donovan, a 41-year-old lawyer.

Ending “paternalistic” observances like Black History Month, Donovan believes, would lead to “not only a reduction in racism, but whites more ready and willing and able to celebrate our difference, enjoy our traditions, without feeling the stain of guilt that stifles frank dialogue and acceptance across cultures.”

Time to end Black History Month?

End Black History month? African-American history?

What needs to end is ANY reference to hyphenated-American ANYTHING. The Black community calls it ‘Black History Month’ when it’s convenient but the article immediately goes to the African-American reference. I seriously doubt that even 5% of the Blacks in America are African, so, WHY do we insist on this politically correct BS by using an incorrect terminology? African-American? I don’t think so.

The majority of MY family came from England, France and Germany, they migrated to Canada and eventually to Mississippi and Louisiana. I am NOT a European-American. I am an AMERICAN, nothing more, nothing less.

Blacks in America have made great contributions to this nation. Hispanics have made great contributions to this nation. Asians have made great contributions to this nation, as have Europeans and any other group that came here, save perhaps the moonbat Muslims.

I have a serious problem with Blacks being given a ‘Black History Month’, I find it offensive, I find it very racial as a matter of fact, and I feel discriminated against.

What would Blacks call it if we had ‘White History Month’? Anyone want to venture a guess there?? I already KNOW what would happen. $harpton and Je$$ie Jack$on would be on the march. The NAACP would be filing suit and there would be uprisings all over this USA, because WHITE people want to celebrate THEIR history and heritage with a dedicated and specific month.

I have always heard it said, ‘if you’re not part of the solution, you are a part of the problem’, and those are some very powerful words. America is supposedly ‘the melting pot of the world’. Yet far too many races and various nationalities seek to change America into a clone of the land and culture they left to come here. If their homeland and culture was so great, why did they come to America in the 1st place? And if America isn’t now their HOMELAND, how can they attach the title AMERICAN after ANY hyphenated name?

I ask you, just WHO are the real racists and bigots? Damn if I can remember getting so much as one penny for college from the United Caucasian College Fund. If we don’t all believe that we are equal, if we don’t ALL participate in the celebration of AMERICAN history, then we are nothing more than what I fear we are so very close to becoming, an America reminiscent of the Balkans, with the ethnic cleansing that will be a certainty.

Yeah, I know, I’m a racist. Go ahead and say it, I hear it ALL the time. But the fact of the matter is this, I am as proud of being a WHITE American as any Black person is of being a Black American. I’m as proud of American history, even the bad times, as is any American. ALL Americans should be proud of OUR history, but when I stand and express MY pride, I am labeled a racist.

If I was the one that called for an end to ‘Black History Month’, if I was the one that founded WHITE Entertainment Network, if I was the one that started an all WHITE, United White Folks College Fund, I would be castigated all over the blogosphere as the most vile bigot alive. Why is it that only WHITE people can be labeled as racists?

America 1st, for AMERICANS. And if you don’t consider yourself to be an AMERICAN, and nothing else, then this is not your home! You are nothing more than a visitor and it’s time for you to go to whatever nation it is that you consider to be your home. I’m sure they will welcome you with open arms.

So, to those that disagree, and there will be those that do, call me a racist, a caveman, a knuckle-dragger, a bigot, whatever your current buzzword may be, but I personally am very tired of being the one that has to acquiesce to the political correctness that is about to kill our nation.

I’m sick and tired of being called a ‘racist.’ I am a racist in that I fully support one ‘race’; the HUMAN RACE, but I don’t care the color of a man’s skin. What I care about is the quality of the man’s heart and character.

Being recognized solely for one’s ethnicity is absurd and insulting to everyone. It is nothing more than an effort to remind the individual of his perceived place in society; remind him to hate; remind him to isolate.

I’m sick and tired of people trying to divide us based on our appearance… hmmm, that sounds like the same tactic liberals are trying to use to separate us from certain weapons.

I’m also sick and tired of liberals putting the environment before the human race, or animal rights activists putting beasts before humans.

Hell, Fred. I’m just sick and tired of liberals in general.

I saw that it is Black History Month before reading your article and wanted to puke. Give me a break! I try to treat everyone equally until they give me a reason not to and I totally agree with your article.

It is said that humans originated in Africa so then it seems to me that ALL Americans are African-Americans. Do black people in the Caribbean call themselves African-Whatevers? African Jamaicans? I hate the term African-Americans and I refuse to ever use it!

  3. Katie says:

Dr. King wished that each person would be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the merit of their worth. It is a shame that those words have not been remembered. Today one is judged by the color of one’s skin. And if one’s skin is light, then you are a racist. (Unless you agree with their agenda.)

Let us get rid of Black History Month AND Affirmative Action. After 50 years if the Universities and Businesses aren’t “diverse”, then that is too bad.

    • Gawfer says:

I’ve heard the term “diverse” but have yet to hear it defined. what does it mean?

Should a business hire equal quantities of various ethnicities? Or should their employee quota reflect the current percentage of population by ethnicity?

If tne former is true, then they’ll play hell trying to find enough qualified minorities; they are minorities after all. if the latter is the template, then every company (including BTV) should be 71% caucasion, 16% Hispanic and 12.5% African (I agree with hgpsurf). This would reflect the 2010 US Census.

      • Katie says:

Diverse: When a company fires several highly trained, highly skilled workers who happen to be light skinned to hire replacements with a darker skin color. These replacements do not have to be skilled, trained or have any qualifications to do the job. They all they need is the right skin color, religion, and/or sex. Lesbians and gay men are also preferred.

        • Gawfer says:

Aw dammit, I forgot. Trying to apply common sense to to a senseless notion is nothing more than a futile attempt to confirm the existence of intelligence within the ranks of liberalism. My bad.

and I screwed up the html tags in my previous comment. :(

  4. Hgpsurf says:

Maybe we should give a pass to those black people who know which tribe they came from. Any bets on the percentage of black people in America who know what country they come from? My guess is less than 5%. The more I think about this, the more disgusted I get!

  5. mrchuck says:

    Katie, you are so right.
I got called on the “carpet” because I had 2 “lesbian” patrol officers, who would not show up on time, missed assignments, etc.
They brought me up on civil service charges,,,and I had to take a “Diversity” Training Course, or else.
Passed the course easily, but I wasn’t humorous in taking it.
The 2 officers cooked their own gooses without my help.
    They became pariahs.
Neither one was computer literate and started sending each other porno photos of themselves,,, on their “official business” federal computers.
They would push the “SEND ALL” button instead of just the “send” button.
Doing this, their “photos were sent out to ALL computers, 38,000 of them throughout this Federal LEO Agency!
They were immediately fired, and brought up on charges.
I just smiled and said nothing, and did nothing.

So, maybe these so-called “african americans”, will find out sooner or later, that their own internal racism is really from their own doing, by following the black Jackson’s and Sharpton’s of the world.

    • Katie says:

I hope so Mr. Chuck, but I fear most Blacks are firmly stuck to the plantation. As long as they receive free food, housing, money, etc… they will never be able to set themselves free. That is why the welfare system we have today was formed.

As for your 2 former “workers”. Karma is a bitch isn’t it.

  6. sdkar says:

If africa is where all humans started, that means that after ove 5,000 years…africa is STILL a shithole…America has been occupied by a forward thinking people for less than 250 years, and look at who has done what with their lands.

    • Katie says:

According to science our ancestors left Africa and spread out through out the world. I guess that means that the smartest, bravest and best left Africa and went to the other 3 corners of the Earth, while the lazy, stupid and cowards stayed behind.

      • myfoxmystere says:

Scientists might say the human race started in Africa, but the evidence shows otherwise. Civilization started in Asia, near the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. The so called evolutionists use Africa as their starting point to promote their talking point saying man came from apes.

  7. LD Jackson says:

I couldn’t agree more with the essay you have shared. I am sick of hearing about the history of every race that has came to America. Let’s talk about American history for a change.

  8. Bloviating Zeppelin says:

And I’ll write what I likely wrote last year:

I’ll respect Black History Month when we get a Crazed Albanian Dwarf Month, an Argyle-Wearing Bhutan Month (With Accompanying Dalmatian) or a Dyspeptic Nagorno-Karabakh Republic-an Month.

    BZ

  9. myfoxmystere says:

The circus has come again! I declare March as White History Month! May is Asian Pacific Islander month. Problem solved! Hee hee!
