Immigrants’ children more Democratic than parents

MexicoWASHINGTON (AP) - U.S.-born children of Hispanic immigrants are more likely than their parents to identify themselves as Democrats as they integrate into American life, maintaining strong ties to their cultural heritage while casting themselves as liberal on social issues.

A wide-ranging study released Thursday by the Pew Research Center lays bare some of the difficulties for the Republican Party following elections last November, when President Obama won with support from 80 percent of nonwhite and ethnic voters. The report tracks the socioeconomic progress and views of second-generation Americans, the bulk of them Latinos and Asians who were born in the U.S. after a 1965 immigration law opened U.S. borders to millions of non-Europeans.

“What’s striking over the past several decades is that the two groups at the heart of the modern immigration wave - Hispanics and Asian-Americans - have both been trending Democratic over time, as they sink their roots deeper into American society,” Paul Taylor, Pew’s executive vice president, said in an interview.

“Many decades ago, Ronald Reagan is said to have described Hispanics as ‘Republicans who don’t know it yet.’ Well, it’s 2013, and they apparently still haven’t figured it out,” he said. SOURCE

If Ronald Reagan were here today he wouldn’t believe the damage that has been done to our once great nation in such a short time, and make NO mistake, I don’t give Reagan a free pass on immigration and amnesty. Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.

Granted, Reagan didn’t exactly open the gate but he didn’t lock it either, and all of those Hispanics he described as ‘Republicans who don’t know it yet.’ well, it just isn’t panning out.

The Dems have been saying that they will turn America BLUE, indicating a Democratic controlled nation with the Supreme Court, the Executive and the Legislative branches as their ultimate goals to control. Of course they will also try to turn ALL of the States blue in the process, including Texas.

As one of our local Councilmen told me, “Over MY dead body.” That gentleman will have to remain unnamed at this particular point in time.

I am truly hoping that the Dems are far over-reaching their ability and what serves as brain matter.

The report says adult children of immigrants as a group are integrating into U.S. society and doing generally better than newly arrived immigrants in median income, educational attainment and English fluency. The second-generation group also reports increased social ties, including intermarriage, with other racial and ethnic groups.

About 60 percent of Hispanics and Asians in the second generation consider themselves to be a “typical American,” roughly double the share of first-generation immigrants who think so. At the same time, however, the second-generation groups maintain strong ties to their ancestral roots in an increasingly multicultural U.S., with majorities identifying themselves by their family’s country of origin, such as Mexican-American, or by a pan-ethnic label such as Asian-American.

I am the grandson of a French Canadian immigrant. I have let that be known on many occasions and I am indeed pleased to know my heritage from that side of the family. On the other side I am again a descendant of the French, Acadian French, the folks that settled South Louisiana, the Cajuns.

Our family never referred to itself as French-Americans or Canadian-Americans, we were Americans, that was all we were and all we needed to be. I think it was said best here:

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all… The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic… There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else. ~ Theodore Roosevelt~

And then there is this very appropriate line:

“Any man who carries a hyphen about with him carries a dagger that he is ready to plunge into the vitals of this Republic whenever he gets ready.” ~Woodrow Wilson~

Let’s look at this immigration thing as it really is; many years ago, when immigrants came to this nation, they came here seeking a better life and to become Americans!

When the immigrants of today have the good sense to realize that the Democratic Party is the ruination of the United States, when  they drop the hyphen and become Americans, hopefully Conservative Americans, and nothing else, I will welcome them with open arms.

Until such time; ANY that come to the United States seeking a better life and still consider some other nation to be their home, they need to get the hell OUT of the United States and go back to that home!

I truly struggle to understand why every American doesn’t get this simple truth:

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years.
Great nations rise and fall. The people go from bondage to spiritual truth, to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back again to bondage.”

    Alexander Tytler.

Where are we in his forecast? Complacency? Dependence? Nearing bondage?

We are in the transition from selfishness to complacency.

I don’t believe we can be turned back. History has proven this time and again.

Mexicans aren’t going to go Republican, plain and simple.

It is the liberal education that they receive for free. They are taught in the schools Democrats good, Republicans bad. The teachers (Working openly for the Democrats.) convince the children that pee-marital sex is good, abortion is good, welfare is your right. It is no wonder that 53% of all Hispanic children are born out of wedlock. It is no wonder that Hispanics are rising to the be the largest group on welfare. It is no wonder that Hispanic gangs are rivaling Black gangs in size. After all fathers are beginning not to be wanted. An idea contrary to the core of Hispanic society.

We are doomed to become another Sodom if we let the Democrats to gain the nation.

Good Character and water are similar in that they are both pulled down to a lower state of existence, and seeks the path of least resistance.

Unless we teach our children ‘easy isn’t always good’, we are doomed to repeat history in spite of the efforts of our forefathers to prevent it by means of our constitution.

Michael Reagan said his fathers greatest regreat was giving illegals amnesty. The Democrat controlled congress promised him they would fix immigration reform and secure the borders and they lied. Reagan messed up and he knew it.
