Fallout from voter ID law continues in Dallas County

Dallas County officials are looking at doubling down on voter outreach, days after launching perhaps the state’s most extensive attempt to alert voters to potential identification problems resulting from Texas’ new voter ID law.

County commissioners will examine on Tuesday a proposal to spend up to an additional $165,000 on efforts to resolve voters’ complications with improper photo ID and name discrepancies between required forms of identification.

The infusion — which won’t be voted on for at least another week — would come on top of $145,000 that commissioners approved in October to spend on mailings aimed at clearing up lingering conflicts and confusion ahead of the March primary.

That first allocation resulted in the mailing on Jan. 24 of notices to 195,000 voters about the ID law’s provision that a voter’s name on a valid photo ID must exactly match the name listed in the voter registration database. Dallas Morning News

Voter ID 1As you can imagine this battle is drawn along PARTY lines with Conservatives and Republicans being FOR the idea of having to present a VALID I.D. to vote.

The Democrats and Libbers are trying to make a case for NO identification, claiming that the *inconvenience* of having to obtain an I.D. that proves you are who you say you are  disenfranchises their Party members.

I have to ask, in ALL sincerity, is there anything in this modern day and time that doesn’t require an I.D. of some sort? Do the *disenfranchised* voters not engage in any of the following activities?

This is a fairly comprehensive list of things that require a valid ID that I found on the ‘net.

● Drive a car
● Rent a car
● Obtain a passport
● Fly on an airplane
● Buy alcohol
● Buy cigarettes
● Open a banking account
● Cash a check
● Apply for college
● Get married
● Rent tools and equipment
● Have utilities (water, electric, gas) turned on
● Pick up a certified letter from the Post Office
● Pick up a package from UPS
● Apply for food stamps
● Apply for welfare
● Apply for Social Security
● Apply for Medicaid
● Apply for a job
● Apply for unemployment
● Buy/rent a house; apply for a mortgage
● Buy a gun
● Enter a casino (even if you do not gamble)
● Get married
● Serving on jury duty
● Rent a hotel room
● Adopt a pet
● Public library – getting a library card
● Apply for a hunting or fishing license
● Buy a cell phone
● Pick up a prescription
● Hold a rally or protest
● Run for a political office
● Donate blood
● Any outdoor activity like skydiving or bungee jumping
● Cash transactions of $5,000 or greater
● Purchase certain cold medications (contains pseudoephedrine)

But according to the Democrats you don’t need a valid pictured I.D to vote in some places?

I say this; Democrats and Libbers are the most dangerous, disgusting and duplicitous bunch of CROOKS and LIARS that has ever walked this earth. They tell their members that having an I.D. is an inconvenience and those that support the Dems actually buy into the LIES of the Democratic Party leaders.

All a pictured I.D. does is level the playing field, it helps to keep all concerned participants straight up and honest, with NO cheating; and therein lies the problem for the Democratic Party. Had pictured I.D. cards been required in the last 2 Presidential elections Barack Hussein Obama may have never been more than a footnote in history.

In a great number of areas in the United States there was MORE than a 100% voter turnout.

But that’s impossible you say. Snopes and FactCheck.org have both said that it’s not true, that it was an email scam that went viral in an effort to discredit Obama.

Maybe these folks are wrong, or are liars and racists that made up a story simply because they hate the idea of having Obama as POTUS. Voter fraud, illegal activities reported in several states.

I have no reason to doubt the above story, I’m originally from Louisiana, a state that has thrived for years on the LIES and cheating of the Democrats. I also KNOW that now, here in Texas, when a picture I.D. and voters registration card are presented and all of the information matches, you vote, NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

I also know that everyone in Texas can get a Texas STATE Election Identification Certificate at NO charge to the person receiving that EIC card. NO CHARGE, NO MONEY required, FREE, gratis.

So, c’mon Dems, tell me how having to produce a voter I.D. card is a disenfranchisement.

All a pictured I.D. does is stop CROOKS from stealing elections. Maybe THAT is the disenfranchised thing the Dems are crying about. I can see no other reason the Dems wouldn’t fully support a pictured I.D. law.

You can bet your life that if they had to have a photo ID to get their monthly check, that ID would suddenly appear.

I’m sick and tired of hearing how getting an ID is such an inconvenience or how having to wait in line for more than 15 minutes is such an inconvenience. How about they trying waiting in a mobility processing line for hours on end to be sent someplace you absolutely don’t want to go. How about sitting in some old bus for hours as you head to the US Embassy in order to get the proper visa to deploy to a country you’re not suppose to talk about? Inconvenience….screw them.

  2. To hear the Democrats tell it there are millions of people who have thus far made it through life without ever having a photo ID. Right. And if you like your health plan, you can keep it.

I thought that obamacare required everyone to have a photo ID. If so, then problem solved…right. If everyone has to have an ID, then simply produce it when voting.

I also love how they require an ID to buy a gun, as stated above, but don’t wring their hands and fret over how poor people are unable to partake in their 2nd amendment right. I also love that they require an ID to come see them at their office, and sometimes, to attend one of their town meetings.

I have an idea, how about when the person comes to vote, if their records show that they do in fact possess an ID, they MUST PRODUCE IT. Heck, you can hire off duty detail police officers and sheriffs at about $25-$30 an hour to sit there with their laptop computers (the same one they have in their vehicles), and check within seconds for each person, if they do have an ID, and pull up an image of their drivers license or state ID. That way, if they claim it is lost or missing, no problem, the cops takes their name and DOB, type it in, and 5 seconds later, an image of their ID shows on the screen. If the photo matches, then they get to vote. The cost is minimal and I don’t see how anyone, other than criminals or those with ill intentions could make a big deal.

I will even conceed that we can consider voting day amnesty day, and if the person has any active warrants that the cops would see on his computer, he can not arrest that person as we certainly do not want to have WANTED criminals afraid to vote…right?

So, if you have an ID, you MUST use it.

And, if you are voting age and have NOT obtained any form of photo ID by this stage of your life….THEN REALLY? I don’t think that person should vote anyway…or leave the house…or participate in society in any manner whatsoever, or allowed to use a fork…NOTHING. But that is just me on that.

The govt is the worst abuser of requiring ID for everything…but not on voting?
This isn’t the 1800′s were literacy and photo ID’s are rare…it’s the damn 21st century.

Never has an argument been so blatant about stuffing ballot boxes and nothing more.

Offer all the poor, indigent, abused, discriminated against, minorities, immigrants, welfare and all other on the dole dependency class peeps $500 to register for voter ID and they’ll take two buses and three trains or pimp a ride anyway they can to get to where they need to go. Then on election day they can pick up their $20 bill from the baton bearing poll watchers on their way in to pressing the D buttons. Sweet…

What happened to our policy of assimilation? I guess a policy of diversity is supposed to be better for us. Bleeding people for such things as hysteria and panic attacks was the norm at one time, look how well that worked.

    • BobF says:

We should insist that if the immigrant who comes here does in good faith become an American and assimilates himself to us he shall be treated on an exact equality with every one else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed or birth-place or origin. But this is predicated upon the man’s becoming in very fact an American and nothing but an American. If he tries to keep segregated with men of his own origin and separated from the rest of America, then he isn’t doing his part as an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. . . We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, of American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding-house; and we have room for but one soul loyalty, and that is loyalty to the American people.

Thanks for this post Fred. No more arguments about voter ID should be tolerated by we the people. Have we as a nation become so devoid of common sense that we can’t complain about this to our reps? Fraud seems to be the law of the land and it’s perpetrators live mostly in the current administration. I can’t believe E. Holder is a lawyer. Thank you BobF for putting up T.R.’s famous speech about immigration. I think Henry Ford pushed a similar idea about the employees at Ford Motor C. Too many immigrants in a very short time is a recipe for chaos, which seems to be the objective. For too many years it’s been screw the citizen, wee’l just raise taxes to help the poor immigrant, regardless if they are legal or not. Thank you Cloward and Piven.

That’s because ALL Democrats are “rats”. Just like the last 4 letters in their political party.
Dallas in particular, wants all illegals so they can vote in all the “ree shit”.
    That’s all they want.
Read the Dallas crime log. Drive thru the ghetto areas in Dallas and see up close and first hand what a “shit-hole ” that DALLAS has become.
Not the suburbs or the surrounding towns and cities where the white people have moved to.
Just drive around in the area of Dallas.
I do it at times trying to find the Sam’s Club off Hwy 30, for example.
But I am armed at all times, and have a 35 year experience of cuffing and stuffing the
low class types populating this City of Dallas.
And this is exactly why all of those new towns, cities, etc., have grown up like Plano, Allen, Frisco, etc, etc….
So many towns, that I knew as a teen-ager that were safe to live in then , now have a negro, mexican problem, because their values and basic hygiene just is not what the white people grew up with.
And yes, schools and graduation percentages is included in the above comments.
You disagree? Well, you can. But don’t expect me or people who agree to help you when the riots, thieving start on your street.
All I will say to you is “good luck”, and “get off my porch” before you get hurt.
