Here’s your Blank Check Mr. Obama

Here’s your Blank Check Mr. Obama

If you have been a regular reader of this blog you know that I have been preaching for quite a while about how the GOP, Conservatives and The TEA Party need to get their act together lest they want to fully surrender the Senate and lose the House. Well, some folks in the GOP ARE trying, some aren’t.

Pete Sessions Votes Against Debt Limit Increase

Pete Sessions 675x825WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-32), Chairman of the House Rules Committee and a Member of House Republican Leadership, today released the following statement regarding the House’s vote to increase the debt limit:

“One of my top priorities in Congress is to fight Washington’s out-of-control spending and pay down our $17 trillion debt. That is why I voted against a bill to raise our nation’s debt ceiling without any spending cuts and reforms. Increasing the debt limit without meaningful and responsible reductions in government spending is bad for our economy, bad for businesses, and bad for North Texas families. I will continue to fight to reduce the size of our bloated government, cut our nation’s unsustainable levels of spending, and remove the burden of debt from future generations.” SOURCE

Pete Sessions in my Congressman and he is doing everything in his power to bring these groups together, but it appears that *some* in the GOP are nothing more than the RINOs we have long believed them to be, and *some* in The TEA Party are fighting and LYING every way they can in what I see as an effort to bring a permanent fracture of the RIGHT to fruition.

This was the story earlier in the day from the AP.

Senate clears debt limit measure for Obama

Ted Cruz 1WASHINGTON (AP) - Legislation to raise the federal debt limit and prevent a crippling government default cleared Congress on Wednesday with an awkward assist from top Senate Republican leaders who were forced into a politically treacherous vote engineered by tea party favorite Ted Cruz.

Sen. Mitch McConnellThe Texas Republican’s maneuver forced several GOP colleagues, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, into a reluctant vote against a filibuster, helping the measure along. It’s a vote likely to cause grief for McConnell, who is facing a primary election challenges. SOURCE

And the *giving in* began as the vote against a filibuster was helped along by the RINOs, which led to this vote, one that makes me hang my head in shame at the atrocious way Sen. John Cornyn of Texas once again proved to Texans and Conservatives everywhere that he is not much better nor any more reliable than is Sen. John McCain of Arizona.

Cruz’s demand ensnares GOP leaders on debt vote

WASHINGTON (AP) - Texas Sen. Ted Cruz sat with eyes glued to his mobile device as the chaos he provoked ensnared his Republican leaders on the Senate floor.

Legislation to raise the nation’s borrowing authority with no strings attached was short of the 60 votes it needed to advance - a threshold Cruz demanded - and without a few conversions, Republicans would be blamed for its failure. The stock market was watching.

After what seemed like an eternity, a grim-faced Sen. Mitch McConnell, the party leader who faces a tea party challenge back home, finally voted yes. An equally grim-faced Sen. John Cornyn, the party’s No. 2 leader and Cruz’s Texas colleague, changed his vote from no to yes.

Cruz showed no mercy in exposing Republican leaders to widespread criticism from their primary challengers over a procedural vote on the debt limit after their pronouncements about the imperative of spending cuts. It could have been a simple 50-vote requirement, with Democrats delivering the votes to lift the debt limit, but Cruz insisted. SOURCE

John_CornynI have a message for Sen. John Cornyn; you Sir are a disgrace to Texas and Conservatives everywhere!

There is nothing I can do about the votes of other Senators and Congressmen but I can bring about at least some influence, both FOR and AGAINST those that serve me, the State of Texas and our fine people and the 32nd congressional district of the United States House of Representatives, the district that I live in!

Sen. Cornyn can count on this Texan working against him in every way I possibly can in an effort to remove him from the U.S. Senate. Sen. John Cornyn has been *on the bubble* for a very long time but now there is NO doubting where Cornyn’s loyalties lie. *Go along to get along John..*

Pressed after the vote about what he made his leaders do, Cruz was unapologetic.

“It should have been a very easy vote,” he told reporters. “In my view, every Senate Republican should have stood together.” He added that the verdict on McConnell “is ultimately a decision … for the voters in Kentucky.”

That is the message I want to close with as well; know that YOUR vote and opinion DO count and DO make a difference. Know that YOU can make a difference in YOUR home state, all you have to do is get involved in an effort to remove people like McConnell, Boehner, Cornyn or a whole host of RINOs and other no-account slugs from every level of political office.

Keep the good ones, the experienced ones; if they are doing their job why fire them? The House and Senate can’t be run by a bunch of inexperienced, histrionic Drama Queens.

We have the power folks, WE can make it happen, but WE are going to have to have the courage and tenacity to MAKE it happen!

    There is no opposition party.

  2. cary says:

A vote for any of those on the list of “Yes” votes is a vote for the end of this country.

Vote them out, and like Fred says, if they are holding their conservative line, then help them along. Get rid of the Dems and the RINOs.

  3. Bunkerville says:

This fall ‘s Election will tell the tale as to the outcome of our Republic. Pure and simple

  4. LD Jackson says:

I have to agree with Bunker. The mid-term elections will tell the tale.

  5. Wayne says:

With all this going on, John Podesta is leaving his position at CAP to work with the UN on sustainable development, which will transfer our soverignty to the the one world order crowd. I agree with Bunker too, and pray that something doesn’t happen before the mid-terms, be it a false flag deal or all out war somewhere.
