Cruz Makes Distinction Between Endorsement and Praise

I know the difference between an ENDORSEMENT and PRAISE. This post is intended to be an endorsement for Pete Sessions and John Carona! I have to wonder though; does Katrina Pierson and her staff know that difference and only make corrections to their LIES and other falsehoods once they have been taken to task over them? Read on folks, this is a good one!

Cruz Makes Distinction Between Endorsement and Praise

What’s the difference between endorsing a candidate and merely supporting one?

The question is the source of some confusion in the Texas Republican primaries, where the state party’s biggest star, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, is maintaining a distinction between endorsing a candidate and just supporting or speaking favorably of one as he tries to sway voter behavior.

Cruz has officially endorsed five Republican primary candidates in Texas. He has also publicly praised several others, most of whom have carefully touted his praise to supporters while avoiding the word “endorsed.”

“I’m honored and humbled to share with you that Ted Cruz has announced his support of my campaign,” Don Huffines, a Republican in an expensive primary fight with state Sen. John Carona of Dallas, wrote in an email to supporters Monday. SOURCE

I have never had a lot of use for Ted Cruz, I voted for David Dewhurst in the primary for U.S. Senator a while back. I only voted for Ted Cruz AFTER the primary when he was running against a Democrat for the seat from Texas in the U.S. Senate.

This morning as my wife was on her way home from work she heard a *Ted Cruz endorses Katrina Pierson* advertisement on WBAP 820 AM, a local Talk Radio station here in the DFW area, stating unequivocally that Ted Cruz had ENDORSED Pierson.

I know that Sarah Palin has openly endorsed Katrina Pierson but that woman (Palin) is too damned dumb to breathe if it required any logical thought process at all.

Are we playing a game of semantics here? Ted Cruz stated in the above article that there is a distinction between Endorsement and Praise. I can find NO source to hold up a claim that Pierson was endorsed by Cruz.

According to my sources, “Cruz made a statement where he has said exactly who he is endorsing. Katrina Pierson is not one of those endorsed. He won’t return our calls. However he has not stopped her from using his name or voice.”

Cruz has publicly praised — though has stopped short of endorsing — several other Republican candidates in Texas, including state Sen. Ken Paxton of McKinney, a candidate for attorney general; Katrina Pierson, who is challenging U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Dallas; and state Rep. Van Taylor of Plano, a candidate for state Senate.

So, now I have to ask; was Katrina Pierson’s staff LYING with what they had on her web site?

Does Katrina Pierson think the people of Texas are stupid? You see, on her web site, Katrina Pierson for U.S. Congress, as recently as this morning, Feb. 27th, there was a BIG flashing banner with a picture of Ted Cruz and the text stated that Katrina Pierson was endorsed by Cruz.

That is now GONE, replaced by a Sarah Palin endorsement.

Ladies and Gentlemen; I submit to you that there is a strain of dishonesty running through the Pierson campaign, and I further submit that I am of the opinion that Katrina Pierson, and her entire staff, don’t have the collective intelligence needed to properly represent the people of Texas 32.

I am not going to beat around the bush here; I wholeheartedly endorse Rep. Pete Sessions and Texas State Senator John Carona and I don’t give a damn what Ted Cruz, the TEA Party or anyone connected TO the TEA Party have to say or what they think about it. I have had a lot of conversation with Pete Sessions and I am very confident that he is the best person of this part of Texas.

Sen. John Carona is a gentleman I have not had the pleasure of meeting in person just yet, we are friends on Facebook and we have talked on the telephone, and as with Pete, I am very confident that John Carona is the best person of this part of Texas.

It takes a lot more than a few passionate words to be a Congressional Representative, well, a good one any way. TEA Party slogans and Libertarian rhetoric are ALL that Pierson has in her favor.

Here is a comment that a local reader made on this post: Some TRUTH about Pete Sessions:

Robert Mendelsohn says:

Ms. Pierson visited our school’s Young Americans for Freedom Club today — Congressman Sessions visited us on Monday, and we are required to give equal time in interest of not showing any bias — and the difference between the two is like night and day. Ms. Pierson went on and on about things she doesn’t like about Mr. Sessions, how he doesn’t live in Dallas, is siding with Nancy Pelosi, etc. We’re holding an extra meeting just to clear up any confusion our members might have; he certainly lives here and led the campaign to fire Pelosi! Very disappointing that someone who thinks herself worthy of such an important office would stoop to such a low level.

It’s pretty sad when you have to hold another meeting to clear the air of the STINK left behind by a person such as Katrina Pierson.

Let me say this in ALL sincerity; IF you live in Texas 32 and IF you want a TEA Party Representative in Congress, IF you want to place a Ron Paul CLONE in that seat and IF you’re so blind to the facts that you somehow believe Pierson to be a good candidate, go ahead, vote for her.

If she should happen to win I promise you this; before her 1st term is over YOU will be hanging your head much like many of the Obama voters are currently doing, asking yourself, “How in the hell did we get fooled so badly?”

I can tell you exactly how; Pierson has run her campaign like it would be run if SHE were a Democrat, and given the current POTUS, if ANY thinking American needs a reminder, elections DO have consequences.

The difference between Katrina Pierson and her madcap campaign and that which was run by Barack Hussein Obama is about as close as it can be. Lies have been told, unfounded criticisms have been repeated ad nauseam, the RACE CARD was played by Ms. Pierson and her staff and all we have heard is how fearless Ms. Pierson is. Being fearless is a great thing, if you don’t have the intelligence to know how to USE that fearlessness, and when to back away, you present a clear and present danger to yourself and others.

Ask yourself this question, and answer honestly; WHY do you suppose that many of the Founders of the TEA Party have walked away and the TEA Party is now the last bastion of Libertarian BS and Ron Paul rhetoric?

Mr. Thrasher, If my not liking Ted Cruz causes YOU to think I am not a Conservative, then YOU Sir are a damned fool and someone that can delete me from ANY and ALL apps that you may have me on…

The TRUTH is not hate speech and YOU, or no one else will tell me what I can and can’t post on this blog… Only a Commie or a Fascist tries to squelch opposing views and the FREE SPEECH of others…

Do you understand that you Fascist bastard?

P.S. Did you miss the part about me not having any use for Saint Sarah of Alaska? I really figured a dim bulb like you would go ballistic on that one..

    Fred.

Thank you for printing the truth. The fact that Katrina Pierson stood up and lied to the Young Americans for Freedom group today is disgusting. Honor and character is what we expect of our representative from North Texas and Pete Sessions is both honorable and with great character.

Pete Sessions lead the take-back of the House and then stepped up again and did it for another two years to keep the House selflessly working to elect Republicans to a majority. You know what that did for TEXAS?——FIVE, count that 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 members our Texas delegation became Chairmen of important House Committees! Not ranking members, CHAIRMEN all because PETE Sessions lead the charge to retire, I mean fire, Pelosi. Now that is good for all of TEXAS and Pete Sessions made it happen for the House and for Texas. This is how to beat this terrible Obama agenda.

Katrina Pierson collecting unemployment and hiding it from voters, campaigning against it and then trying to justify that and her arrest record is disgusting too.

Palin forgot to do a background check and further having an ad lying about her Cruz “endorsement” is horrible. Cruz should be ashamed to be associated with Pierson and her groups of idiots that are hurting our Republican party and us Conservatives who know the real battle is to beat Liberal democrats….oops I forgot Pierson is the democrat hypocrite.

    • Mary Anne Harper says:

Of course all Katrina knows are lies; she can’t get any votes on her record. I will always associate Katrina Pierson with having an affair with a married man whose wife was pregnant with twins. How many other families has she broken up with her actions? I have told Cruz’s group about it!

      • Jay Bowling says:

        Wow! That is horrible….

        • TexasFred says:

It is the truth too… And as Texasperated said, Pierson has no plan, she has NOTHING going FOR her other than some TEA Party rhetoric and her *Anti-Pete* ranting..

Hopefully, after this primary, she’ll have been seen for what she really is and hopefully the TEA Party will find a way to vet candidates and qualify candidates that can appeal to the GOP, Conservatives and the TEA Party, but until the TEA Party removes the Ron Paultards from it’s ranks and power structure, that is NOT going to happen.. .

  4. Texasperated says:

I supported Ted Cruz from the git-go, Fred. I think you know that. But because you and I are such old f*rts, we can remember when primaries didn’t have to be so rancorous. You supported Mr. Dewhurst. I supported Mr. Cruz. Neither of them is an idiot. I do not mind that the national media are on his case. I do not mind that they are casting him as an extremist (FWIW I also supported AuH2O back in 64). And here is why: the middle is determined by the location of the ends. We need to move the middle to the right. And the fact that Cruz et al. “failed” in October to make any changes to Obamacare is too bad, but it certainly shone a light on it. O’Bama’s refusal to meet in the middle is what caused the shut-down, by the way, not a call for compromise on the most partisan bill ever passed.

So, why do I not support Pierson? Well, I no longer live in Rowlett so I’m not in that district. I’m quite happy with both Jeb Hensarling and Lance Gooden. Dr. Duell, not so much. Anyway, I am not supporting Pierson because she doesn’t know what she is doing. She does not have an agenda so much as she’s the “anti-Sessions.” Not good enough for me.

One thing you did not explicitly state, Fred, is that it is passing strange that Pierson worked on Cruz’ campaign in 2012 and then did NOT get an outright endorsement.

    Keep your powder dry

    • TexasFred says:

Ron Paul supported Cruz too.. Now do you see why I won’t?

Who Cruz endorses or doesn’t tells a lot I suppose, and yes, she DID work for his campaign, and I have covered it… That’s where she was when she made that TACKY comment about a wounded Veteran, not saying he was wounded or disfigured, but he was DEFORMED…

Katrina Pierson hasn’t got the sense God gave a goose…

      • Texasperated says:

Yeah I was willing to give her the “benefit of the doubt” early on with the veteran gaffe, but she could easily have corrected herself at the time or SOON thereafter. I’m not a stickler for “politically correct speech.” but “deformed” is not just politically incorrect, it is incorrect PERIOD.

As far as Ron Paul’s support for Cruz, I agree it was not the best endorsement he could receive. On the other hand, I had watched the Texas Senate, under Dewhurst’s leadership, cave to the TSA. I don’t mind a brush-up with the feds. 😀

        Keep your powder dry

      • Mary Anne Harper says:

I went to the state convention and started working in Cruz’s campaign because I didn’t care for Dewhurst. Ted Cruz hopefully sees Katrina Pierson for what she is-someone who speaks and does things before she thinks about the consequences; she has never left her old life behind. She will do ANYTHING that she wants, including working and collecting unemployment together as it seems she did for quite a while. I have sent a message to Sarah Palin about Katrina Pierson!

  5. Wayne says:

THE MIDDLE IS DEFINED BY THE LOCATION OF THE ENDS. I have never heard that particular phrase before. That says a lot about the prog’s description of conservatives being far right extremists. Fred, you have the courage of your convictions and will vote accordingly, as I am sure most conservatives do. I pray that there are a sane majority that will give us citizens the government we desire and stop the march to socialism. No more go along to get along. I have to make some serious choices here in Florida come 4-22-14. A few new names to research and ponder.
