The Obama Administration’s Abuse of Power

The Obama Administration’s Abuse of Power

Ted Cruz 1Breitbart Texas obtained a copy of Cruz’s report, which stated, “The President’s taste for unilateral action to circumvent Congress should concern every citizen, regardless of party or ideology.

Cruz’s office told Breitbart Texas, “Rule of law is extremely important to Senator Cruz and he believes all administrations, no matter from what party, should be held accountable to following the rule of law and tenants of the Constitution. He will continue working to shine a light on this administration’s lawlessness as long as it continues.”

Cruz said in the report, “Rather than honor his duty, President Obama has openly defied it by repeatedly suspending, delaying, and waiving portions of the laws that he is charged to enforce. When President Obama disagreed with federal immigration laws, he instructed the Justice Department to cease enforcing the laws. He did the same thing with federal welfare law, drug laws, and the federal Defense of Marriage Act. In more than two centuries of our nation’s history, there is simply no precedent for the White House wantonly ignoring federal laws and asking others to do the same.”

“An imperial presidency threatens the liberty of every citizen,” Cruz said. “Because when a president can pick and choose which laws to follow and which to ignore, he is no longer a president.” Read Full Story Here

Here is a PDF style look at what Sen. Cruz lists as the Obama administrations abuses of power.

Now I have only ONE QUESTION for Sen. Ted Cruz; if all of this *abuse of power* is real and has happened, and I am sure it has, WHY is Barack Hussein Obama not being impeached, tried in a court of law and sent to prison?

Can you answer that one Sen. Cruz?

If all of this is as you say and if you’re not personally leading the charge to prosecute and remove Barack Hussein Obama from office, wouldn’t that make you appear to be a bit derelict in your own duty?

  1. Alan Caruba says:

Fred, Cruz is just one of 100 US Senators and the majority right now are Democrats. Thus, there are limits on what he can do and accomplish. I am sure he is as unhappy as you and I. By all rights, Obama should have been impeached by now.

  2. Lee Owens says:

The House votes to impeach Obama, ried gives them a big raspberry,,,,and that’s is where it ends,,,ried will never hold a trial against Obama,,,,O bama could sell Texas back to Mexico and nothing would be done,,,,,well at least on the federal level,,,,,

    • Texasperated says:

Just to clarify, lest someone misunderstand the grand and glorious history of Texas: The US government did not buy Texas from Mexico and therefore could not sell it “back” to anyone. The Republic of Texas merged with the US in 1846, after having been an independent republic for a period of 10 years.

      Keep your powder dry

      • Lee Owens says:

You are 100 and 10 percent correct,,,,I am not sure why I did not make that fact plain in my statement,,,,,I was trying to imply Obama and the federal government might try to do something as egregious as try / give Texas to Mexico and reid would still not hold a trial against Obama,,,,of course a few of my fellow Texans might have something to say about such an attempt…..

  3. Wayne says:

A valid point Fred, and I agree with AC about the demonrats being in the majority, but the fact that the dems are not concerned with the rule of law is handwriting on the wall about the direction they want the country to go in. Opposition to all the investigations that are in the works should scare every AMERICAN as to their true intentions. How about HRC’s take on gun laws?

  4. It would.

    With one very important point:

When you arrive at DC, these days, you are now so inculcated with stark and naked corruption that you simply enjoy more.

You don’t GET to DC unless you are already corrupt and simply want more.

The old adage: “I want less corruption or a greater chance to participate in it.”

  5. Dick Robie says:

He has not been Impeached because the House GOP is concerned that the Public reaction will affect elections AND they know that a trial in the Senate, even thought chaired by the Chief Justice as required by the Constitution, still would result in no conviction in a Reid controlled Senate. In other words, the guilty or not guilty votes would not be based on fact but rather Party affiliation.

  6. Dick Robie says:

And, I doubt he would ever reach a Court of Law–that would be a first. Whomever followed him would pardon him as Ford did Nixon

  7. Abigail says:

We are no longer a country ruled by equal justice for all, where the law applies equally to each citizen. We are now ruled by the selective application of selected parts of selected laws for selected people. The occupant of the highest office in the land slices and dices laws with the cleaver of executive orders. Congress has let it happen. They keep getting reelected which says much about the voters who enable this.
And, let’s face it, does anyone really believe Congress would ever contemplate impeaching the first mixed race president? The race card would be the first played, riots would ensue, martial law would follow and then descent into chaos.

  8. Capt Ron says:

Lee Owens is right. The House has to get Impeachment started, the Senate tries the Impeachment, Harry Reid won’t allow that to happen. Boehner won’t get things started. Senator Cruz has to keep bringing this up and maybe enough citizenry will start demanding something to be done. I keep supporting Ted Cruz, because the road to change is a long, arduous road.

    • Dick Robie says:

Capt Ron–Reid has to have a Trial. Required by the Constitution. I am saying the outcome under HRH Reid’s Senate would be not guilty based on Party lines not facts.

Cruz needs to keep trying. I have a lot of respect for him even tho I am from Nevada

      • Lee Owens says:

Not arguing with you,,,asking,,,after Clinton was impeached did the Senate hold a trial? Can not remember,,,,but regardless of that era, even though the Constitution requires a trail after the House votes for impeachment, reid will not allow it,,,he has done numerous other unlawful acts….

  9. bunkerville says:

Clinton was impeached and where did that get us? Take Obama to the Hague after 2016 and have him tried for war crimes. The world is getting as sick of him as much as we are.

  10. Texasperated says:

I would not deny that Cruz may consider a run for the presidency in 2016 or later. But I think he has shown us that he was not going to sit quietly at his desk and keep his mouth shut from day one. Dingy Harry will not allow conservative legislation to come to a vote, so the best Cruz can do right now is speak up in committee, speak up on the floor, and vote against liberal legislation.

Respecting the “natural born citizen” clause of the US Constitution, opinions vary. I would suggest that it merely means that someone was a US citizen when he was born. But that issue will eventually be decided by SCOTUS.

    Keep your powder dry

    • TexasFred says:

I just hope he’s not hunting headlines… If he is sincere I am all for it, but if he’s after *glory* then he’s no better than the rest…

  11. dekare says:

I believe he is doing this not for glory, but for the constant and repetitive reporting of the wrongs of being done by obama and his ilk, whether something comes of it or not. After all, as the left says, if you keep saying something long enough, it becomes the truth.

…or maybe Cruz is just a racist and wants to besmirch the impeccable performance of our first black president.

  12. There isn’t ONE Republican who will take the issue on.

    Not one.

Not when their jobs are on the line.

Which is why Republicans are thinking that amnesty is starting to sound better and better. It gives them a CHANCE to keep their jobs.
