Obama adviser: No smoking gun in airline bomb plot

WASHINGTON (AP) - U.S. intelligence agencies did not miss a “smoking gun” that could have prevented an alleged attempt to blow up a U.S. airliner on Christmas Day, President Barack Obama’s top counterterrorism adviser said Sunday.

White House aide John Brennan cited “lapses” and errors in the sharing of intelligence and clues about the Nigerian man accused in the foiled attempt.

“There is no smoking gun,” Brennan said. “There was no single piece of intelligence that said, ‘this guy is going to get on a plane.’”

Brennan is leading a White House review of the incident. Obama has said there was a systemic failure to prevent the attack, which he said was instigated by an affiliate in Yemen of the al-Qaida terrorist network.

Obama adviser: No smoking gun in airline bomb plot

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present you with the new and improved Executive Limousine, and the exclusive transportation source, for the Obama administration!

With prior apologies to all retards and morons, I see NO insult in placing the Obama crew on *The Short Bus*. They are, after all, the biggest bunch of retards and morons to EVER infest Washington.D.C.

DHS Secretary Napolitano thought everything was awesome, until it’s not, SOURCE, Obama can’t understand the whys and wherefores of his Muslim brothers and their desire to kill Americans, and now this ding-a-ling aide, John Brennan, says there is “no smoking gun’.

Maybe there wasn’t a “smoking gun” for Obama’s DHS geniuses. Maybe the guy that had the *smoking crotch* was the wake-up call. I don’t know what, if anything, these loons in D.C. are thinking. Personally, I would have taken the words of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab’s father for what it was. I understand he is supposed to be a very credible person in the opinion of many in power.

Brennan cited “a number of streams of information” - the 23-year-old suspect’s name was known to intelligence officials, his father had passed along his concern about the son’s increasing radicalization - and “little snippets” from intelligence channels. “But there was nothing that brought it all together.”

“In this one instance, the system didn’t work. There were some human errors. There were some lapses. We need to strengthen it. But day in and day out, the successes are there.”

Quite right there Johnny! There were some human errors. There were some lapses. There was an overall systemic failure. Sure, there ARE some successes, there must be, but just one case of inattention, human error, a lapse in judgement, what ever the case may be, one time is ALL it takes and scores of Americans die!

If there weren’t enough *clues* for you guys to have Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab on a *watch list*, maybe the ‘CLUE BOOK’ needs to be rewritten!

“What we need to do as an intelligence community, as a government, is be able to bring those disparate bits and pieces of information together so we prevent Mr. Abdulmutallab from getting on the plane.”

And once again, a member of the Obama administration wins the title of ‘Capt. Obvious’.

We, as a nation, don’t need for Obama and his group of merry moonbats to speak to the obvious, we can see the obvious. We need to have the issues addressed and not just given a cursory pass of PCness and swept under the rug!

Brennan didn’t say whether anyone is in line to be fired because of the oversights. He stood by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, although he acknowledged she has “taken some hits” for saying that the airline security system had worked. It didn’t, and she clarified her remarks to show she meant that the system worked only after the attack was foiled, Brennan said.

This is a supposition of what Obama is likely saying in private at this time, ‘There’s a new Sheriff in town boys, and we’re going defend the honor of that fine lady and party hack, uh, gracious and intellectual party supporter, my friend, Ms. Janet Napolitano.’

It is MY opinion that Janet Napolitano needs to go, she isn’t qualified to lead a children’s parade. I have to say this though, in all seriousness, suppose she’s not the WORST that Obama can come up with? There’s always a possibility that she could be replaced with someone not as competent as she is… :?

No smoking gun? HORSE HOCKEY!!!!!!!!!!! They had not only a smoking gun, but film of the shooting in color and HD!

The Asshole should have been flagged for buying his ticket in cash, having no luggage, and being Muslim.

I would like 10 minutes alone with the jerk who let this sorry excuse for a pile of manure on a plane without a passport.

Oh yes the signs were there. They shout out loud and clear! Expect more acts of terror for the next 3 years. That is until we get someone in the White House with the balls to destroy every inch of Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, or any of the other 57 nations who idolize pedophilia, and jihad.

It is simple to understand. It is them or us. I prefer us.

No smoking gun? No single piece of intellectual saying the guy is going to get on an airplane? How about the plane ticket he bought? Computers work and process information in nanoseconds. The moment his name was inputted into a computer saying he purchased a ticket for a flight to the US, the system (intelligence) should have been flashing red lights on the screen.

No smoking gun? What a moron. He is trying to cover up for Janet Napolitano, all of the warning signs were there, they were missed. The smoking gun is the fact that we are being protected by incompetent fools!

Any retail store in America can scan your credit card or put your personal check through a reader. Within a couple seconds, it will flash on the screen whether approved or denied. Why can’t it be done at an airport?

    That’s right:

“These aren’t the terrorists you’re looking for. You can go about your business. Move along. Move along.”
