US to consider local views on 9/11 trial location

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Obama administration said Sunday it would consider local opposition when deciding where to hold Sept. 11 trials and pledged to seek swift justice for the professed mastermind of the attacks.

“Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is going to meet justice and he’s going to meet his maker,” said President Barack Obama’s press secretary, Robert Gibbs. “He will be brought to justice and he’s likely to be executed for the heinous crimes that he committed in killing and masterminding the killing of 3,000 Americans. That you can be sure of.”

Objections from New York City officials and residents have intensified since the Justice Department announced late last year it planned to put Mohammed and accused Sept. 11 conspirators on trial in federal court in lower Manhattan. In its new budget, the administration is proposing a $200 million fund to help pay for security costs in cities hosting terrorist trials.

White House aide David Axelrod said New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and other city officials have changed their minds after initially supporting the decision for trials in the city, citing logistics and costs.

I have a few things I want to say regarding these terrorist trials.

First and foremost, Robert Gibbs is a blithering idiot. If a competent defense attorney gets a hold of that statement, “Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is going to meet justice and he’s going to meet his maker”, he will make mincemeat of the prosecution. When you deliberately make a statement like that, you have opened the door to a claim of Presidential prejudice and what may be perceived as an attempt to influence a jury. Can you say mistrial?

Any lawyer, and isn’t the President supposed to BE a lawyer, isn’t his wife a lawyer, ANY lawyer that would allow one of his employees to make a statement of that nature may very well be trying to pollute a potential jury pool as well.

Regardless of his words, or those of his hand puppet, Robert Gibbs, it has long been my personal and deep belief that Barack Hussein Obama has pushed so hard to have these trials carried out on U.S. soil because he wants to give the terrorists all the rights afforded to an American criminal on trial in an American court.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is NOT an American citizen, he is a terrorist. He should have the right to a fair trial by military tribunal and a swift execution by firing squad! And it should have taken place long ago.

Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., said the administration should shift the trials to military courts, which he said have been reviewed by Congress to ensure fairness. He and other Republicans have criticized officials for charging Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab in civilian court in the Christmas airliner plot instead of turning him over to military authorities.

“We have to make a distinction between a kid who breaks into a sandwich shop in Detroit and a Nigerian terrorist who wants to blow up an airplane flying into Detroit,” Alexander said.

It’s not too often that I agree with Sen. Lamar Alexander, but in this particular instance, we are on the same page. These guys are NOT criminals in the American sense of the word, they are, plain and simple, nothing more or less than TERRORISTS. Why can’t Barack Hussein Obama accept that as a fact of life? Any guesses?

Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., indicated he didn’t support the request for $200 million for civilian trials, saying he favored trying terrorism suspects safely, quickly and inexpensively.

“If there’s somewhere we can try them without spending that money, why spend the money? We’ve got a lot of other fiscal problems,” Bayh said.

Sen. Evan Bayh is very correct in his statement as well! Do it quickly, do it on the cheap and then carry out the sentence in a speedy, efficient and cost affective manner.

For what it’s worth, this is quite likely the 1st time I have ever found myself in agreement with Sen. Evan Bayh.

This isn’t rocket science folks. There is a hidden agenda at work here., One designed to favor the terrorists by granting them the same rights that we enjoy. There is no way it can be otherwise. I am convinced that there is an agenda afoot that is specifically designed to stave off the executions, and possibly bring about a vindication of people like Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

Radical Islam has a friend in Washington, D.C. and his name is Obama! If you think otherwise, I want to you to ask yourself WHY, why is Obama wanting them tried HERE? And I hope you’ll answer honestly, even if it’s only to yourself.

We are at WAR America, and we face more dangers from enemies within this nation than we do from enemies around the world. Those in the seat of power in D.C. present more danger than all of the Islamic bombers everywhere…

This administration is dangerous… period. I wonder how many more people will die before Americans wake up.

Maybe they will try and escape to Cuba and the cost will be very cheap—just a handful of ammo—well maybe a case! I would love to see the bastards hanging on that razor wire. I hope this guys are tried in a military court, but Fred when one looks at this closely a civil trial might just be a benefit in the long run as it would drag on and on and Americans would be turned off by the vile insults hurled at us and the military and in the end Obama would lose much support and such a trial could very well be his undoing in 2012—just a thought. Another terrorist attack is coming trial or no trial so the trial itself is a wash in that regard. Hell, just shoot the bastards while attempting escape! Its been done before.

Ron, they’re already asking for $200 MILLION, the longer it goes on, the more it’s going to cost, hell, next thing you know, it’s another $200 MILLION, then a BILLION, before you know it, we’re talking some serious money… :?

Fred says……… and a swift execution by firing squad!

Can I supply the bullets soaked in pig oil???? hunh? can I? Pretty please????

Ron says……….just shoot the bastards while attempting to escape?

Key words are ..”while attempting “.
Why not just shoot the bastards and say they were “attempting?” Say the lawyers were aiding and abetting and shoot their scummy asses too.

I have to agree Fred. There is something there that stinks BAD!!!!! Maybe that shitbag obamma knows this and it could be a way for them to get the trial tossed. Then people will go on a rampage and shitbag will declare Marshall law, and then the shit will REALLY hit the fan. Keep your powder dry and your “hogleg” handy

Obama also said KMS was guilty and would be executed and then he tried to deny what he said.

“I don’t think it will be offensive at all when he’s convicted and when the death penalty is applied to him,? Obama told NBC’s Chuck Todd.

I don’t know how many times I’ve said this but I’ll say it again,

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies in the heart of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear.
The traitor is the plague……” Marcus Tullius Cicero, speech to the Roman Senate.

I’ve said this about the Clintons, Carter, Kissinger, Kerry, and a whole lot more before I included Obama…one of these days the country will wake up and everyone will get a plague shot…take that any which way you want!

And now Mitch McConnell is saying that congress may withhold all funds for any criminal trial. This man may be tried in a miltary tribunal before this is all said and done.

My greatest fear right now is that Revolution might be the only answer. I don’t want to see that - because AGAIN we’ll see brother against brother - and family is supposed to be strong - but USA has indoctrinated a lot of folks to just sit and not know.

WHO in their right mind cannot understand that when it comes to these TERRORISTS “Boom Boom - OUT GO THE LIGHTS!”

NOT ONLY terrorists - but the expenditure of all of our money on STUPID SHIT!

LOT’S OF FOLKS NEED A BIG FORK STUCK IN THEIR EYES RIGHT ABOUT NOW!

TF, Bayh is correct. You are also correct in reference to poisoning any potential civil jury well.

However, I ask: might it not BE the goal to poison the well in order to make a further, overarching statement by this administration?

Considering we are at war with radical Islam, anyone who voted for a man for POTUS with the middle name Husein and who had not been truly vetted was two bricks short of a load. Over half the country had their collective heads up their ass. Now as WhoBeen stated the traitors walk among us in much greater numbers than ever before. As far as these trials go; Obama wants a propaganda forum for his muzzie buddies and something to distract the general populace from the havoc he is really trying to reek on the country. From what I’ve seen lately, We The People may be regaining some ground from these fools; but I’m still buying ammo on a regular basis.
