Priest accused of U.S. abuse works in India

NEW DELHI - A Catholic priest charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Minnesota is working in his home diocese in India and has no plans to return to the U.S. to face the courts, he and his bishop told The Associated Press on Monday.

Church documents obtained by the AP show the Vatican was alerted to the accusations against the Rev. Joseph Palanivel Jeyapaul more than three years ago but did not respond.

The priest has received only a minor punishment and is currently working in his bishop’s office processing teacher appointments for a dozen church schools in the diocese of Ootacamund in southern India.

“We cannot simply throw out the priest, so he is just staying in the bishop’s house, and he is helping me with the appointment of teachers,” said the Most Rev. A. Almaraj, the bishop of Ootacamund. “He says he is innocent, and these are only allegations. … I don’t know what else to do.”

Well, that settles it, HE says he’s innocent.

The Vatican didn’t respond, and this was reported more than three years ago? And he has NO plans on returning to the USA? Nothing cries innocence like running away from your accusers!

The Most Rev. A. Almaraj says he doesn’t know what else to do? Well, here’s a suggestion for you Most Rev., bring him back to the USA to stand trial on those charges. Force him to stand the charges. For once in your miserable, hypocritical life, do the right thing and stand up for an the victim. Don’t hide behind the papacy and another of it’s shuck and jive moves!

Almaraj emphasized that Jeyapaul was engaged in only “paperwork, nothing to do with the children or anything.”

Oh yeah, that really instills a sense of confidence, and innocence too. He’s pushing paper because the Most Rev. A. Almaraj, and whoever else is in charge of this Catholic cover-up knows that Rev. Jeyapaul isn’t to be trusted around children.

The main group of clerical abuse victims in the United States has scheduled a news conference for Monday in St. Paul, Minnesota, to draw attention to the Jeyapaul case and demand he be suspended and returned to face justice in the United States.

The group, Survivors Network for those Abused by Priests, has been campaigning recently to draw attention to what it considers the Vatican’s complicity in cases of abusive priests being moved around dioceses to avoid criminal prosecution.

What did I post two days ago?

The RCC doesn’t condemn the perverts, they protect them! They hide them, they transfer them to other parts of the world, they deny, they lie, they do everything possible to ignore these sick bastards actions and keep them secret. And when all else fails, they use the treasure of Rome to pay off the molested in an attempt to make it all go away. SOURCE

It’s never going to change. The abuses suffered at the hands of priests and nuns has gone on for centuries. In many ways, this is akin to the hypocrisy that’s known as Islam, The Religion of Peace. Imams and clerics can do anything they like, they can declare Jihad, they can have sex with animals, they can rape children and it’s never going to stop until that yet to be found moderate Muslim of conscience steps up and makes these animals change their ways.

Where are the Catholics of conscience on this? Do you hear the hue and cry of the everyday man and woman that are members of the RCC?

NO, you do not! And you won’t, unless they have been a victim of abuse. And even then, they will be ostracized, they will be threatened with excommunicated, they will be shamed and embarrassed, while their abuser gets a transfer to fresh hunting grounds!

Anglican leader: Irish church lost all credibility

Anglican leader: Irish church lost all credibility
LONDON (AP) - The Roman Catholic Church in Ireland has lost all credibility because of its mishandling of abuse by priests, the leader of the Anglican church said in remarks released Saturday. A leading Catholic archbishop said he was “stunned” by the comments.

The remarks released Saturday marked the first time Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams has spoken publicly on the crisis engulfing the Catholic Church. The comments come ahead of a planned visit to England and Scotland by Pope Benedict XVI later this year.

“I was speaking to an Irish friend recently who was saying that it’s quite difficult in some parts of Ireland to go down the street wearing a clerical collar now,” Williams told the BBC. “And an institution so deeply bound into the life of a society, suddenly becoming, suddenly losing all credibility - that’s not just a problem for the church, it is a problem for everybody in Ireland, I think.”

The interview with Williams, recorded March 26, is to be aired Monday on the BBC’s “Start the Week” program as part of a general discussion of religion to mark Easter. But its publication ahead of the interview caught Catholic leaders off guard.

Anglican leader: Irish church lost all credibility

As long time readers will remember, I was raised in the Catholic Church.

As a child I heard rumors whispered about Father So-and-So or Sister Such-and-Such, but it was always polite whispers. The kids weren’t supposed to hear these whispers, but you know how that story goes.

There was never a public statement of outrage, even when a child was molested. There was never a cry of outrage when a child was seduced by a Priest or a Nun. I use the word seduced because molested may not be the most appropriate word for a person of 17 years of age, unless they were the victim of clergy rape.

I was not a victim of rape or molestation. When I was 17 I was on the receiving end of some serious attempts at seduction by Catholic Nuns.

I worked in a Catholic Hospital after school my Senior year in high school and there were Nuns all over the place. Some were well known as party girls. On in particular got pregnant by a very prominent orthopedic surgeon, that was a huge scandal!

I made every effort to avoid these Nuns, I tried to maintain MY faith, until a supposedly very devout Jesuit Priest, the Chaplain of this same hospital, tried to lay hands on me, and I don’t mean in the way Charismatics lay hands. He was rewarded for his efforts! He ate dinner through a straw for the next 6 weeks, I broke his jaw when I punched him and walked away.

I was threatened with excommunication, I was told how I had embarrassed the Church, I was told I was going to HELL because I had struck Father SOB.

I was told, by my parents, that this couldn’t possibly have happened, “Father SOB wouldn’t DO something like that, he’s a man of God… ” In other words, I was telling a lie. The truth of the matter is, they didn’t want to believe that a priest was a pervert. That would shake their faith.

It was soon after that the Nun and Surgeon scandal broke, I was pretty vocal about that too, “Yeah, well, maybe she’s making it up, he is, after all, a doctor, shouldn’t he know how to screw her and not get her pregnant?” Needless to say, my folks weren’t too happy about that.

I was as outspoken then as I am now.

The fact of the matter is this, the Roman Catholic Church is rife with perverts, pedophiles, molesters, party girls and every other description you can come up with for people of loose, or NO morals.

I’m 56 years old now, and I know that they don’t represent what we’re taught is the will of God, but as a 17 year old kid, I was traumatized greatly, to the point that I have to physically force myself to enter a Catholic church, and that’s only to attend the funeral of a family member. I then get OUT of these churches ASAP!

The fact of the matter is this too, the Roman Catholic Church HAS blown ALL of it’s credibility.

These stories are happening all too often, and then the stories of past transgressions come to light. Along with these stories comes the diversionary tactics the RCC uses to protect these animals, these demons, these sorry bastards that steal the innocence of children.

At least 11 wounded in fight in Vienna temple

At least 11 wounded in fight in Vienna temple

VIENNA (AP) - Worshippers of Indian origin armed with knives and at least one gun fought one another in a temple in the Austrian capital on Sunday, and at least 11 were wounded, police and ambulance staff said.

Police spokesman Michael Takacs said the brawl occurred in Sikh temple, but Mohnder Ram, a worshipper who said he had attended services there for decades, said Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and others regularly attend the Shri Guru Ravidass Temple. He said the attackers were Sikhs from a temple in another Vienna district.

Witnesses said the fighting erupted between worshippers in a dispute over the sermon.

Police said at least six men, one wielding a gun and the others knives, attacked the preacher. Other worshippers rushed to his aid, resulting in the melee.

Ya know, somehow, I just can’t picture 1st Baptist and Lakeshore Baptist going at each other like this. St. Marks and St. Johns Episcopal? Nope. I never heard of First Methodist going over to Rockwall Free Will Methodist and starting a rumble either. Honestly, I can’t see ANY Christian group going after one another in a physical confrontation over the Word of God.

I do know a certain woman that, armed with a shotgun, invited a group of Jehovah’s Witnesses to ‘get the hell off of the property’ a few years ago! But there was prior provocation.

An unidentified witness cited by the Austria Press Agency said the brawl was started by fundamentalist Sikhs from a higher caste, who accused the guru of being disrespectful with the Holy Book.

A higher caste? Something similar to the class warfare that more than a few Christian churches have been known for?? Maybe this is all starting to come into focus.

Caste warfare, class warfare, whatever you want to call it, you can’t sit on the Amen Pew because you don’t have a prestigious job, your wife isn’t dripping in diamonds and furs and you are not giving the church enough of a love offering maybe?? Might be something to that line of thought. One guy had his turban turned the wrong way, the others took offense and considered the improperly tilted turban to be an insult to, uh, to… Just who is it that these guys worship anyway? :?

Sikhism The Sikhism Home Page

A progressive religion well ahead of its time when it was founded over 500 years ago, The Sikh religion today has a following of over 20 million people worldwide and is ranked as the worlds 5th largest religion. Source:

A progressive religion? Seriously?? These guys need to chill out with some ‘tater salad, fried chicken and a big glass of sweet tea. If I am understanding my basic Indian food groups correctly, burgers steak and baked pork chops are out of the equation.

Whenever I hear of something like this, or the attacks in various parts of the world over different interpretations of Islam and the like, I openly cringe. Religion has done more to hurt the worship of God than it has to encourage it.

Thank you, have a great Sunday, I now return you to the usual political snark, rants and all around America 1st patriotism that TexasFred’s is known for!
