Obama urges Israel to go back to 1967 borders

WASHINGTON (AP) - Forcefully stepping into an explosive Middle East debate, President Barack Obama on Thursday endorsed a key Palestinian demand for the borders of its future state and prodded Israel to accept that it can never have a truly peaceful nation based on “permanent occupation.”

Obama’s urging that a Palestinian state be based on 1967 borders - before the Six Day War in which Israel occupied East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza - was a significant shift in the U.S. approach. It drew an immediate negative response from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is to meet with Obama at the White House Friday.

In a statement released late Thursday in Jerusalem, Netanyahu called the 1967 lines “indefensible,” saying such a withdrawal would jeopardize Israel’s security and leave major West Bank settlements outside Israeli borders, though Obama left room for adjustments reached through negotiations.

At the same time, it was not immediately clear whether Obama’s statement on the 1967 borders as the basis for negotiations - something the Palestinians have long sought - would be sufficient to persuade the Palestinians to drop their push for U.N. recognition of their statehood. Obama rejected the Palestinians’ unilateral statehood bid Thursday as he sought to underscore U.S. support for Israel notwithstanding the endorsement of the 1967 borders.

I am going to say this in the most civil manner I can muster at this moment, Barack Hussein Obama is an anti-American, anti-Semite, Muslim loving asshat of the 1st order and is intent on embracing Islam, and forcing Americans to do likewise, as he abandons Israel and leaves the Israelis to stand on their own.

From Weasel Zippers:

Israeli Knesset Member: Obama Is the New Yasser Arafat

(JPost) — Knesset members on the Right expressed outrage on Thursday night at US President Barack Obama’s call for the creation of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps in an exchange of territory for security.

They called upon Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to reject Obama’s plan when he meets with him on Friday in Washington.

“Barack Hussein Obama adopted the staged plan for Israel’s destruction of Yasser Arafat, and he is trying to force it on our prime minister,” said Likud MK Danny Danon. “All that was new in the speech was that he called for Israel to return to 1967 borders without solving the crisis. Netanyahu has only one option: To tell Obama forget about it.”

Weasel Zippers

Not all Israelis were upset by Obama’s words.

But opposition leader Tzipi Livni said Obama’s plan was clearly in Israel’s interests, while the diplomatic stalemate that she believes was brought on by Netanyahu is not.

I don’t even pretend to understand Israeli politics or Jewish thinking. I do know that a large number of American Jews back the Democratic party and Barack Hussein Obama, and I can’t begin to fathom that support. Either Tzipi Livni doesn’t understand Obama or she isn’t as smart as I thought she was. Nothing that Obama has done, or will do, is in the best interest of Israel.

Israel Expects Obama to Take Back ‘1967 Lines’ Demand

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was quick on the draw Thursday in voicing clear displeasure with President Barack Obama’s Mideast policy speech.

“Israel appreciates President Obama’s commitment to peace,” the response began, curtly. “Israel believes that for peace to endure between Israelis and Palestinians, the viability of a Palestinian state cannot come at the expense of the viability of the one and only Jewish state.”

“That is why Prime Minister Netanyahu expects to hear a reaffirmation from President Obama of U.S. commitments made to Israel in 2004, which were overwhelmingly supported by both Houses of Congress.” SOURCE

I sincerely hope that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu isn’t holding his breath and counting on Obama to *blink*. Obama is favoring his Muslim brothers and standing with those that he feels the greatest allegiance with.

I will say this, U.S. Congressman Allen West (FL-22) hit a home run today.

(WASHINGTON) — Congressman Allen West (FL-22) released this statement today:

“Today’s endorsement by President Barack Obama of the creation of a Hamas-led Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, signals the most egregious foreign policy decision his administration has made to date, and could be the beginning of the end as we know it for the Jewish state.

From the moment the modern day state of Israel declared statehood in 1948, to the end of the 1967 Six Day War, Jews were forbidden access to their holiest site, the Western Wall in Jerusalem’s Old City, controlled by Jordan’s Arab army.

The pre-1967 borders endorsed by President Obama would deny millions of the world’s Jews access to their holiest site and force Israel to return the strategically important Golan Heights to Syria, a known state-sponsor of terrorism.

Resorting to the pre-1967 borders would mean a full withdrawal by the Israelis from the West Bank and the Jewish neighborhoods of East Jerusalem. Make no mistake, there has always been a Nation of Israel and Jerusalem has been and must always be recognized as its rightful capital.

In short, the Hamas-run Palestinian state envisioned by President Obama would be devastating to Israel and the world’s 13.3 million Jews. It would be a Pavlovian style reward to a declared Islamic terrorist organization, and an unacceptable policy initiative.

America should never negotiate with the Palestinian Authority- which has aligned itself with Hamas. Palestine is a region, not a people or a modern state. Based upon Roman Emperor Hadrian’s declaration in 73 AD, the original Palestinian people are the Jewish people.

It’s time for the American people to stand by our strongest ally, the Jewish State of Israel, and reject this foreign policy blunder of epic proportions.

While the winds of democracy may blow strong in the Middle East, history has demonstrated that gaps in leadership can lead to despotic regimes. I have questions for President Obama: ‘Who will now lead in Egypt?’ and ‘Why should American taxpayers provide foreign aid to a nation where the next chapter in their history may be the emergence of another radical Islamic state?’

President Obama has not stood for Israel or the Jewish people and has made it clear where the United States will stand when Palestine attempts to gain recognition of statehood by the United Nations. The President should focus on the real obstacle to security- the Palestinian leadership and its ultimate goal to eliminate Israel and the Jewish people.”

  1. The Flag Man says:

This Muslim bastard has got to GO!!! We have no one we can really call a true ally except Israel, and he is now driving THAT wedge between our countries. The USA has been had by some corrupt assholes that were pretty sure just how we/the people would act(do nothings) when they slipped their silver tongued protege right under our stupid noses and got away with it!!!!!! If we don’t put a stop to it soon, the outcome is not going to be pretty.

He’s already said, “when the political winds shift, he’ll stand with the Muslims” and I say “GOOD”, you stand with your ragheaded assholes you un-American dickweed because that’s exactly where I want you to stand!!!!

  2. minuteman26 says:

Am sure Netanyahu will tell Obama to pound sand. Does anyone need more proof that Obama is at least a closet muslim? There will be a lot of dead muslims before Israel gives up anything. Obama needs to be removed as he is a traitor to this Republic.

  3. TexasFred says:

To The Honorable Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, The Nation of Israel, and all of my Jewish-American Friends; Please disregard the incoherent blathering of a tyrannical, treasonous, larcenous, lying puppet from Hell masquerading as the United States President. Our elected imbecile, Obama Bin Lyin’ does not speak for me, or many millions of Americans!

  4. BobF says:

Fred, Ginni Thomas, wife of Justice Clarance Thomas, just posted an interview, in 10 short videos, she did with Allen West. I can’t see a thing about him to dislike. I think you and the other folks here will enjoy them.

  5. TexasFred says:

Bob — I have supported West for quite some time now, remember the petition?

  6. Katie says:

This very angry Jewish woman returned this evening from the weekly meeting of The Elders of Zion aka Hadassah meeting. While the tribe will not vote Republican, they will NOT vote for Obama nor contribute to his campaign!!!

Further, rumor in Israel has it that when Bibi heard the speech he replied in Hebrew:

    Fuck You Nigger!!!!!!!!

    Excuse the profanity!

  7. Steve Dennis says:

It is amazing to me that the Jews voted for Barack Obama in 2008 because all of the signs were there that he was an anti-Semite, I hope that this is the move that finally turns them against him-Barack Obama is no friend of the Jews, that is an understatement.
I love that statement by Allen West and I would love to see him jump in the race, he would eat Obama alive in a foreign policy debate.

  8. TexasFred says:

While the tribe will not vote Republican, they will NOT vote for Obama nor contribute to his campaign!!!

So, just HOW do they intend to make a change? That’s the problem I have with so many Jews, they vote Democrat as reliably as do blacks…

Not saying that voting GOP is the answer, it’s not, but to vote Democrat just because… Well, that’s the definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result…

  9. Katie says:

They will do what they did in 1980. While many Jews would not support Carter, they couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Reagan. So for President they voted for Mickey Mouse. Buggs Bunny got a large part of the Jewish vote.

While Reagan won heavily Jewish states, Carter got the message.

    AND SO WILL OBAMA!!!!!!

  10. TexasFred says:

Well Katie, you just explained WHY I can and will no longer support this bullshit, I abhor ignorance, and that is sheer ignorance…

  11. TexasFred says:

Katie — I know quite a few Conservative Jews that would think likewise, voting as you said is sheer stupidity… In fact, I know one Jewish man in particular that severed all ties with a sister because of her support of Obama, and he is NOT someone that votes for Mickey Mouse…

I sincerely hope that your words are not indicative of the feelings of ALL American Jews, and I hope that Israeli Jews are much smarter than that, because if they aren’t they won’t be around much longer…

And I have noticed, it’s not Conservative Jews that are always crying about how they are persecuted here in the USA, but the Liberal Jews, the Democratic Jews, they are indeed another story, they piss and moan in typical libber fashion, but they play the *JEW* card…

As I said, many Jews hold to their loyalty to the Dems just like blacks do, and they ALL, Jews and Blacks, seem to have a *card* to play in an effort to explain why…

    Sheer ignorance…

  12. Katie says:

We conservatives have to realize and work for is that any vote that is not for Obama is a vote for his opponent. I’ve been encouraging Moonbat liberals to drop Obama and vote Green Party. We all know that these idiots will never vote for a Republican (RINO or not), and it takes votes away from Obama.

It is NOT who gets the most votes who win, but who gets the most electoral college votes who wins.

As for the race card: I use it often and loudly against liberals all the time. For they are the true racists.

  13. acaruba says:

Someone needs to reply to Katie and strongly recommend that she not SPREAD rumors that are meant to slander Bibi Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel. A single Hadassah meeting is hardly a gathering of Jewish intellectuals. As for the way Jewish Americans vote, it remains one of the enduring mysteries for a generally slavish devotion to the Democrat Party and liberal causes. No one seems to have an explanation for it. If Jimmy Carter and now Barack Obama has not convinced them that at least two Democrat presidents are deeply anti-Semitic, then nothing will.

Israel has nothing to apologize for as regards its existence. It was reestablished in 1948, but its history dates back over 3,000 years. A Rasmussen poll reveals that over 70% of those surveyed defended its right to exist. By contrast, there never was and is not now a legitimate or even historic “Palestinian” people.

Taking one’s cues as to how Jews will vote from a Hadassah meeting or repeating some foolish and malicious rumor reflects poorly on the person commenting here.

    Alan Caruba

  14. Katie says:

Actually a Hadassah meeting or any other gathering of the Tribe is a good indication of the feelings of the Jewish community. We speak openly among ourselves in a way we don’t in a mixed group.

The women I know were strong supporters of Obama in 08. They raised thousands of dollars for him. Now they won’t return phone calls from his campaign.

Obama will discover that he has a Jewish problem.

    No money, no votes.
