Racial incident mars high school game

From the *Too Stupid to be Believed Files* comes this:

Racial incident mars high school game

SAN ANTONIO - A local school district is apologizing after an apparent incident of racism at a boys high school basketball game this past weekend.

When the final whistle blew Saturday, Alamo Heights celebrated a convincing victory over San Antonio Edison.

Alamo Heights Head Coach Andrew Brewer said he was proud of his team.

“Tremendously proud,” Brewer said. “Tremendously. It’s the best group of kids.”

But it was just after the trophy presentation when the coach was not proud of the chant coming from Alamo Heights fans.

“USA, USA, USA,” they chanted.

San Antonio Independent School District officials took the chant as a racial insult to a school with all minority players from a school with mostly white ones.

On the KSAT 12 Defenders Facebook page, Santos Villarreal’s post reads “this has to stop.”

SAISD Spokeswoman Leslie Price heard about the incident after it had happened.

“This is very disrespectful to our students,” Price said.

She said the district is glad the coach put a stop to the chant immediately and hopes Alamo Heights addresses it quickly.

“It is surprising and it’s disappointing to hear that anyone would be out there making those kind of remarks,” Price said.

Edison students who attended Saturday’s game were shocked when they heard the chant. Some thought the fans of the victors should have been better behaved.

Ruby Arredondo and Forest Lebaron are seniors at Edison and Julian Castellano is a junior.

“I was very surprised,” Castellano said. “Very appalled.”

“They didn’t really have any class,” Arredondo said.

“It just rubbed us the wrong way,” Lebaron said.

Alamo Heights Superintendent Dr. Kevin Brown also apologized for the chant.

“We just hope that people know that that’s not who we are and we’re not going to let it happen again,” Brown said.

Alamo Heights has apologized to SAISD and the students identified will also have to apologize and have been banned from the state title games.

“We think that you have to earn a right to be there and that’s not a reflection of our school district,” Brown said.

Both districts are now just trying to move past this disturbing incident.

Another SAISD school, Lanier High, faced a similar incident within the last year from students in the Cedar Park school district.

First I have to say, the reporter that wrote the original story for KSAT is NOT the best writer I have ever seen. I guess the writer feels that each and every sentence must be a paragraph unto itself … OR, maybe he’s simply playing to the reading comprehension abilities of the readers of KSAT. Just sayin’…

Now, here is what I have to say about this *racial incident*; USA USA USA USA!

Someone PLEASE explain to me how chanting USA after a ball game at a high school in Texas can in any way, possibly be interpreted as a *racial incident*. Aren’t we ALL still Americans here in Texas? At last check, we still haven’t seceded from the Union and gone back to being The Republic of Texas.

I have to believe that the SAISD is comprised of MORONS. Just because a school happens to be attended by *minority* students, that school IS in San Antonio, aren’t those students Americans as well?

In San Antonio? Maybe not.

OK, lets just suppose these students attending school in San Antonio aren’t American citizens. Why then would it be RACIST to chant USA USA USA? Lets assume that these students are of Hispanic decent, and in San Antonio, that is a safe assumption, so, my question is this; WHEN did non-citizen Hispanics (Mexican) become a race?

Hispanic is an ethnicity, not a race. There are WHITE Hispanics and Black Hispanics, the designation White or Black would indicate a racial makeup, but simply being a Hispanic doesn’t qualify as a *race issue*.

Just so everyone knows, Texas is, as a whole, a very Conservative and well reasoned state, a great place to live and work, and is as close to heaven as I have ever seen.

That said; San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas, Ft. Worth and El Paso are bastions of Liberal ignorance and corruption. I live in Dallas County, but thankfully I live in the very Conservative suburbs of Dallas County, but make NO mistake, the City of Dallas is one of the most liberal places imaginable, as are the aforementioned Texas cities.

We’re not perfect here in Texas, we too have our problems with Dems and Libbers, not as many as some states, but we DO have a few left-over hippies, welfare slugs, moral degenerates, Paultards and all around left-wing moonbats.

Don’t let the actions of a few on the SAISD cause you to think Texas as a whole is going LEFT. That is something that will not happen. If we could eliminate those few pockets of libber lunacy, starting with the San Antonio Independent School District members that considered this to be a *racial incident*, Texas truly would be more heavenly! :P

And as a very personal side-note to those that were “rubbed the wrong way” or thought the chants of USA weren’t “classy”, if this USA that offends you so badly is as painful for you to endure as you make it out to be, GET THE HELL OUT OF THE USA!

  1. himself9 says:

USA USA USA! is “NOT” an insult, racial or otherwise, except in the minds of losers.

  2. Cary says:

    USA! USA! USA!

There. Does that make ME a racist, too?

USA is not a race. Mexico is not a race.

Caucasian, Mongoloid, Negroid, and Australoid are races.

How is it racist to display pride in the country where you live?

And, since I wrote each sentence in it’s own paragraph, may I please be considered as the replacement for the “reporter” who wrote this dreck?

  3. mrchuck says:

I expect being in San Antonio, that there are a lot of “un-documented” students in school there.

And probably a lot of Mexican American students who were born in Texas, while their parents are still “un-documented”, and could face deportation if detained by the police.

The LA-RAZA movement wants Texas back, that’s all.

    This will never happen.

Just tell them to pack up and move to Santa Ana, California.

They will be happy there, as it looks, smells, and tastes exactly like Tijuana, Baja California Norte, MX.

All races have their own neighborhoods.

The white Americans have theirs; the Blacks have theirs; the Chinese have theirs, the Mexicans have theirs; the Somalians have theirs; and so on.

Reality of the homo-sapiens is that each has their own culture.

    So, here goes: USA-USA-USA !! TEXAS-TEXAS-TEXAS !!!!

  4. TexasBrady says:

Well Fred, whats the freaking beef here. people are trying to make an incident out of NOTHING. The more fuel poured on the fire, the hotter it gets.

    It is CLASSLESS

    • TexasFred says:

The *beef*? The San Antonio media being dumb as a box of rocks, the SAISD being even dumber than that, the very idea that ANYONE in this nation would be offended by high school kids chanting *USA USA USA*, that’s MY beef…

This is a fire that NEEDS to be burned, if these asses don’t LOVE the USA, then get OUT OF the USA…

      Simple…

    • TexasBrady says:

What I was trying to say was more on the lines of where you were headed with your comment Fred,

      1. We have a nation that is being gutted by a president who is not qualified in the first place to be president.

      2. our nation is BROKE,

      3. Our borders are not secure,

      4. Our president has ordered ICE to release/not arrest illegals aliens

      5. Our president has presented his plan to gut our MILITARY with HISTORIC reductions which are just shy of 1/2 trillion dollars, in a time where the USA, USA, USA,USA is a target for every RADICAL ISLAMIC JIHADIST that draws a breath; they want us DEAD, and you mean to tell me,

someone got there feelings hurt because someone shouted USA,USA, USA,

with all due respect to whoever had his pride hurt, needs to take a good look

around and make a decision whether or not you really want to live here, to

      live in a country that,

      1. Allows you to own your own business,

      2. Allows you to worship and pray to whatever God you choose,

      3. Allows you to own a weapon for your protection,

      4. Allows you to vote

You know the rest, but when I see an incident like this being EXPLOITED and blown out of proportion as this has been to try and turn the utterance of USA into a racial indecent for the purpose of someones agenda is wrong, and they, whoever they are should be ashamed of themselves; they are the ones who need to stand up and apologize to both sides.

In closing, people understand that our country is on the brink of collapse and a president who is leading the way….this incident should be the least of your troubles……….Obama should be your biggest priority and concern,

6 November 2012 is the date you can punch his one way ticket back to KENYA!

  5. Bunkerville says:

I guess it was suppose to be Viva La Mexico, por favor… that is the extent of the foreign language known from this poster.

  6. Dick Robie says:

I am writing a letter to the Newspaper in San Antonio that published this trash and to the High School. This is the USA. USA means United States of America. There is nothing racist about it. I am sick to death of all the racissmn BS. Yes, there is some out there promulgated by the ignorant-most of us dont care about color or ethnicity.

  7. BobF says:

I just listened to that clown, Juan Williams, on FOX say how this was racist. Not long ago, in California a kid was sent home from school because he wore a T shirt to school with the American Flag on it. What the heck is happening when school kids cannot have pride in America? Think maybe if that school from San Antionio had any pride in America, they would have started chanting USA…USA…USA…along with the other kids?

I guess the people in the video below are racist too since they most likely offended the Russians as Russians must be a race of people too. This is where the chant USA…USA…USA…got started.

  8. capitalisa says:

I thought this was a joke post. Now I’m just sick :(

  9. Patrick Sperry says:

Esto es una estupidez fuera de los límites! No a las personas conocen la diferencia entre una raza y una nación? Este tipo de hace que te preguntes qué tipo de educación a esos niños están recibiendo por todos los dollers fiscales.

Just in case any of them happen to read Fred’s Blog…

  10. Bloviating Zeppelin says:

Anyone ever hear of the phrase similar to “methinks thou doth protest too much”?

    You know what it means.

And that is pointed directly at SAISD.

Just how many, I wonder, of your students are LAWFUL students from LAWFUL parents in this country?

But, then again, any state that borders Mexico is a foregone conclusion: it will be subsumed by illegal Mexicans because there is no concerted will to discriminate between the lawful and the illegal.

And that is just ONE level on which this country purposely refuses to save ITSELF.

  11. Katie says:

My advice to that school is when you play the Muslim school forget the U-S-A chant and go with Am Yisrael Chai! (Israel Will Live Forever!) Then they can claim anti-Semitism when the Muslims or anyone else complains.

  12. Lew Waters says:

Funny how chanting USA, USA, USA inside the USA is no a “Racial incident,” but chanting “Viv la Raza” isn’t.

Nor it seems, is hoisting the Mexican Flag over an American school.

Folks better wake up to this PC multiculturalism crap while we still have a country left!

  13. minuteman26 says:

One more reason to keep your kids out of the public school system if at all possible.

  14. Blue5 says:

FINALLY someone who writes the true points of this incident. Even Foxnews did not get these points spoken as well as TexasFred…thank you from bottom of my USA heart.
I AM so proud my family heritage comes from Texas.

  15. TexasFred says:

But some Edison students took it as a racial insult. Edison’s basketball team is comprised of mostly minority players; Alamo Heights’ is mostly white.

    Racism complaint generates nationwide controversy

The above is the latest from San Antonio…

Apparently Edison students aren’t Americans, OR, they are some terribly STUPID Americans…

My opinion? A bunch of wetbacks, or children of wetbacks looking for a new avenue in which to advance an issue that really isn’t an issue…

    • Blue5 says:

My dad was born in Texas 1911. I grew up hearing him refer to illegals as ‘wetbacks’. I hear Mexican call white American as ‘gringo’ and other names for us Americans with Mexican nationality.

DNA, I am a mix of Italian, Spanish, Mexican and my daughter has Irish.

I know calling illegals ‘wetbacks’ is very common, but I am asking you to consider not using ‘wetbacks’ it is a derogatory term. You will gain more respect for USA for it.

It is true, they are using this to advance their issue/cause.
And they are being used by Liberals, keeping them ignorant by not speaking English, dumbing down public schools, and making them dependent on our gov social services.

Thank you for this site and updated news.
      USA USA USA

      • capitalisa says:

You have a point, Blue5. Not speaking for Fred, just myself. It is a term I grew up with, but have been leaving aside and for this reason: These people are illegals! They are criminals! And I don’t want the focus to be taken away from that fact.

I also don’t begrudge anyone else’s usage of the term.

        • TexasFred says:

Lisa, you know, political correctness is NOT my strong suit!

        • Blue5 says:

This is the PC to be worried about and the Dream Act… link is below:

The world illegal is an accurate description for actions, but not individuals,” says Fox News Latino Managing Editor Alberto Vourvoulias-Bush. “We don’t use it to describe people who commit other crimes. We write about unlicensed drivers, for example, not illegal drivers.”

      • TexasFred says:

Blue5: I have used the term WETBACK for at least 50 years now, surely you aren’t coming to MY blog and trying to tell me what I can and can’t, or SHOULDN’T say??

        Are you?

Wetback IS used in a derogatory manner by me, and it IS intentional..

        • Blue5 says:

Not at all…please don’t take offense.

If you want to say ‘wetback’ for another 50 years, I will just chuckle and say ‘God forgive this old man’..ha ha.

I didn’t use the words, don’t say, shouldn’t say ..that would be judgmental. Like I said, my dad used the same words. And I fully respected him.

It was a suggestion, there is another world outside of Texas…you know the saying you will attract more USA bees with honey vs vinegar.

          God Bless USA

          • TexasFred says:

I am not worried about what the PC among us think… That PCness is killing our nation, they aren’t GAY, they are QUEERS, they ARE illegal, but in Texas, most of em got WET getting here..

If PCness dictated my blogging I would have to shut down…

            • Blue5 says:

I am not talking about political correctness, that is a liberal term.
I don’t like the slang names Mexican people call me, because I don’t speak Spanish. I remind them where they are USA USA USA and we speak English.

Another phrase my dad would say is ‘Remember the Alamo’, The Alamo 2004 greatest epic movie.

I was hoping Gov. Rick Perry would be the one for Rep. Presidential race, but his boarder policy lost my support.

Hey Texas Fred, I told my mother your El Paso story word for word…she laughed.

God Bless You and your site

  16. TexasFred says:

Years ago, out in El Paso, I worked with a guy named Frank but he always went by *FM*, so I asked him, why do you go by FM? Your last name is Rodriguez?

He told me it was FM because it stood for “F*cking Mexican, that’s what you f*cking Gringos call us anyway, just making it easy for you”.. :P
