Illinois AG asks high court to declare gov. unfit

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - The Illinois attorney general filed a motion with the state’s highest court Friday asking justices to strip scandal-plagued Gov. Rod Blagojevich of his powers.

Lisa Madigan took the action as pressure on the governor intensified to step down. Madigan scheduled a news conference in Chicago Friday morning to discuss the motion.

The move came as the governor prayed with several ministers in his home before heading to his office, telling them he is innocent and will be vindicated “when you hear each chapter completely written,” according to one of the pastors.

The attorney general asked the court for a temporary restraining order or an injunction that prevents Blagojevich from serving as governor. The filing says he is “unable to serve as governor due to disability and should not rightfully continue to hold that office.”

Maybe, just maybe, there’s someone in the state of Illinois that has scruples.

Political ethics are hard to come by these days, look at all the politicians that have been charged, indicted, convicted, whatever the case may be. Vitter, Craig, Stevens, DeLay, all elected officials, all charged and/or indicted. Some found guilty, some not, but the fact remains, politics is a dirty job.

I have great respect for ANY politician that can remain clean in this sewer that IS todays political arena, but those individuals are a rarity. There was a city council member from my old home town that went to Federal Prison.

The Governor of Louisiana is currently serving Federal Prison time, and that one is really funny in my opinion. Everyone in the state of Louisiana KNEW that Edwin W. Edwards was a crook, it was a known fact, and he was loved by the people of Louisiana, but he’s in the can now!

This little wannabe bad boy, Rod Blagojevich, is nothing more than a greedy and crooked political moron, he will NOT step down, he’ll have to be removed physically, kicking and screaming! I wish the Illinois A.G., Lisa Madigan, much luck in her appeal to the Illinois Supreme Court, I hope Blagojevich, and his illegal tentacles, don’t have some unknown power over that body.

Look at this guy Blagojevich, he appears to believe that he is above justice. He has ignored all calls and requests to voluntarily step down from the office of Governor. He seems to think he is invulnerable.

It is my most sincere hope that the state of Illinois shows him that he is not, and I also hope that the FBI investigation places this disgusting cretin in Federal Prison for a very LONG time. He will make someone a very handsome *prison bitch*!

Rod Blagojevich soooo reminds me of Arch Moore a former gov of WV who beat Fed charges once, but got caught and sent to a Fed Hilton in the western panhandle of FL the 2nd time. I’d like to see Rod Blagojevich do about 20 years in Leavenworth, but that ain’t gonna happen. Hell Obama will most likely pardon this ass-wipe anyway.

I think you are overly optimistic Fred…

I think Politicians in Illinois just see an opening for them to get theirs, there is no honor among thieves and there is NO WORSE thief than a Chicago Politician.

I declared him unfit in the last election when I voted Republican instead of this crook.

    Just Chicago politics at work.

I understand that Michelle Obama is under investigation. That could lead to her disbarment. And if Hubby is also convicted we might see both our President and First Lady in prison while still in office.

Al Capone would be proud of the legacy he left behind in Chicago.
