Obama slams pending Ariz. immigration law

President Barack Obama called an Arizona immigration bill “misguided” Friday and said it could violate people’s civil rights, intensifying pressure on the state’s Republican governor to veto the nation’s toughest legislation against illegal immigration.

Obama said he’s instructed the Justice Department to examine the Arizona bill to see if it’s legal, and said the federal government must enact immigration reform at the national level — or leave the door open to “irresponsibility by others.”

“That includes, for example, the recent efforts in Arizona, which threaten to undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans, as well as the trust between police and their communities that is so crucial to keeping us safe,” Obama said.

Obama slams pending Ariz. immigration law

Mr. Obama needs to pay very close attention to these words, the only thing that is misguided or irresponsible would be the efforts of his, and several previous administrations to act on this matter that is in line with the wishes of LEGAL Americans, natural born and naturalized.

I have stated, in numerous blogs in the past, I am the grandson of an immigrant, a LEGAL immigrant. I have no issue with LEGAL immigration, that is what this nation was built on. I have no issue with anyone, regardless of race or color, that comes to America to become an English speaking, tax paying, loyal American.

An American. Not a hyphenated American, just an average, everyday, American citizen that works to better the lives of themselves and their LEGAL American family, and works for the betterment of THIS nation!

An American. A person that’s here because they want to be here.

An American. An individual that loves this great nation and doesn’t seek to turn Her into a clone of the Third World, Socialist dung pile they originally came from.

An American. Someone willing to FIGHT, and die if necessary, to defend this nation, our freedoms and the American way of life.

An American. One that quotes, and believes the words of our founding fathers, Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Paine, Adams, and Madison and doesn’t embrace the words and teachings of cretins like Marx, Stalin, Hitler, Trotsky, Mao, Castro, Chavez and the like.

Not that a REAL American, especially an American president, would ever embrace the words and teachings of a dictator and tyrant…

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, who faces a tough election battle and growing anger in the state over illegal immigrants, scheduled an afternoon news conference Friday to announce her decision.

The sweeping measure would make it a crime under state law to be in the country illegally. It would also require local police officers to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are in the country illegally.

The real shame of this matter? The fact that a state should even have to consider enacting a law regarding ILLEGAL immigration.

Those laws should fall under the auspices of the U.S. government and the various agencies that are responsible for enforcement OF immigration laws. INS, ICE, Border Patrol, and God only knows what other alphabet agencies are involved, they need to DO their job, or, probably more correct, those agencies need to be ALLOWED to do their jobs, and ALLOWED to round up all, or as close to ALL of these ILLEGAL invaders as possible, and then deport them, poste haste!

The bill’s Republican sponsor, state Rep. Russell Pearce of Mesa, said Obama and other critics of the bill were “against law enforcement, our citizens and the rule of law.”

Pearce said the legislation would remove “political handcuffs” from police and help drive illegal immigrants from the state.

“Illegal is illegal,” said Pearce, a driving force on the issue in Arizona. “We’ll have less crime. We’ll have lower taxes. We’ll have safer neighborhoods. We’ll have shorter lines in the emergency rooms. We’ll have smaller classrooms.”

I have to agree with Mr. Pearce, on all of those points. Illegal means against the law. It means the person engaged in ILLEGAL activities is a criminal, nothing more, nothing less. And I guess there are many that believe an act of blanket amnesty will exonerate these lawbreakers, and in the overall scheme of things, I suppose it will, but amnesty is NOT right. It’s a slap in the face to ALL foreign born Americans that have worked hard to come here, become citizens and strive, every day of their lives, to be fine examples of what it means to BE an American!

U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva, a Democrat who opposes the measure, said he’s closing his Arizona offices at noon Friday after his staff in Yuma and Tucson were flooded with calls this week, some from people threatening violent acts and shouting racial slurs.

I am often accused of being a racist, simply because I use the word WETBACK. Some say that is a racial slur. I have yet to have anyone show me where ILLEGAL is a race. I don’t care if the person is black as coal, as white as snow or anywhere in between, if they cross into this nation ILLEGALLY, they are a WETBACK!

Misguided is what I would call the efforts of the Obama administration, the Bush administration and every other administration prior all the way back through the administration of JFK.

The last U.S. President that did anything about the ILLEGAL infestation that is over-running this nation was President Dwight D. Eisenhower when he implemented Operation Wetback.

Burgeoning numbers of illegal Mexican immigrants prompted President Dwight D. Eisenhower to appoint his longtime friends, John Cox and General Joseph Swing, as INS Commissioner. According to Attorney General Herbert Brownell Jr., Eisenhower had a sense of urgency about illegal immigration upon taking office. In a letter to Sen. William Fulbright, Eisenhower quoted a report in The New York Times that said, “The rise in illegal border-crossing by Mexican ‘wetbacks’ (rooted from the watery route taken by the Mexican immigrants across the Rio Grande) to a current rate of more than 1,000,000 cases a year has been accompanied by a curious relaxation in ethical standards extending all the way from the farmer-exploiters of this contraband labor to the highest levels of the Federal Government.”

The operation was modeled after a program that put pressure on citizens of Mexico to move back to Mexico during the Great Depression because of the bad economic situation in the United States. SOURCE

Does anyone even remotely believe that in this modern day, politically correct America, that a U.S. President would have the courage to DO such a thing?

Judging by the inaction of ALL the Presidents since Ike? I guess not!

An addendum:

PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed into law the nation’s toughest legislation against illegal immigration Friday, a sweeping measure that supporters said would take handcuffs off police but which President Barack Obama said could violate people’s civil rights.

  1. Robert says:

ALL states should sign this bill. I saw all the “Protesters” out there in front of the Ariz. capitol. Where were they when the ranchers we killed? where were they when the cops got killed? where are all these “Activists” when their illegal douchebag friends are out robbing folks and raping women? Screw them ALL, i think that protest offered a target rich environment.

    Well Done Arizona.

  2. Texasperated says:

Which people is our president referring to that he is afraid are going to have their rights violated? Could it be the thousands of people who have been victimized by illegals coming to this country to commit crimes? Could it be the millions of Americans who do not run like roaches when the word “immigration” is shouted? Perhaps it is the hundreds of police who will now be allowed to do their jobs?

No? The people our president refers to are people who have no right to be here, yet he claims they have rights once they get here. Can somebody explain this Orwellian world to me?

  3. PatriotUSA says:

Gov. Brewer deserves a medal for signing this bill. She did not listen to the Mullah Obamaham, the first Muslim President of the United States or all the other trolls who tried to stop her.
She has bigger huevos than many of our so called politicians who suppossedly represent us, we the people. To hell with them and this bill should be a model for the Feds. Like that will ever happen with the losers we have in power right now.

Wetbacks, illegal aliens, border jumpers, frito bandito, camel jockies, rag heads, mussies, whatever. They are not here LEGALLY so let’s get the f-k out of here. That goes for every and all illegals no matter the color or country they come from. While I am on the soapbox: BAN all Muslim immigration starting with the Muslim imposter in the White House. Ban all immigration and do it the right way. Call me whatever.

Arizona rocks the country. Yeah baby!

  4. cary says:

    Hey, Obama!

Please keep in mind that you have to be a LEGAL citizen of this country before you have any CIVIL RIGHTS IN this country!

  5. Patrick Sperry says:

Now,we need for EVERY state to enact similar legislation. I about fell over when I heard that she had signed it this evening. Naturally, the race card was immediately pulled…

  6. Vigilante says:

How many sent a congrats to Gov. Brewer?? I did, and she needs to know that there are a lot of people that are happy with what she did.

“Obama said he’s instructed the Justice Department to examine the Arizona bill to see if it’s legal, and said the federal government must enact immigration reform at the national level — or leave the door open to “irresponsibility by others.”

Hey, muslim shitbag, you with the purple lips, and ears that beg to be grabbed in each hand,……. Instruct THIS!!!

Now, I hope she signs into law to make it where he has to produce a birth certificate to run in her state, and anyone that calls her a “birther” should get their asses voted out of office for just that reason alone.

C’MON TEXAS, start riding herd on Perry to get some balls and follow Jan’s lead,(if he’s wanting to win the election) or get the hell out of the road and let someone else take the wheel. She needs some support.

They should have had the police standing at the ready when she signed it into law. They then could have moved in and gathered probably 95% right then and deported their asses.

  7. Ron Russell says:

I agree with Robert. Where were these people when their people were killing the rancher, raping, robbing, and waiting on their welfare checks. Simple eating tacos and drinking carta blanca with our money!

Good for Arizona—where are the other 49 states now. Bet we hear from an appointted federal judge within a month! The LaRaza and ACLU attorneys are burning the midnight oil this evening, you can bet on that!

  8. ablur says:

I can’t be happier for Arizona and her citizens. Once again the federal government fails to do its constitutional duty and then complains by way of Obama when someone else steps up.

I would love to see this law spread like wild fire across this nation.

  9. HoosierArmyMom says:

Kinda of funny… a man who still has not produced “a legal original certificate of live birth” is talking crap about illegals having rights???? Only those born under the US Flag and Constitution or those who have worked hard, crossed their t’s and dotted their i’s and worked to learn our language and laws HAVE RIGHTS in the USA. I salute Governor Brewer and like Vigilante, I will let her know I think she has done the right thing!

    Arizona, YOU ROCK!!!!

  10. sdkar says:

Obama may want to be careful in Arizona. He could get arrested for being an illegal immigrant and if he can’t prove citizenship, he will get deported back to Kenya. Wouldn’t that be a great thing?

  11. Doc Roy says:

We, the wife and I, just got back from Scottsdale, AZ. The people of Arizona are seething about the murder of the rancher by an illegal alien. The state newspapers are behind the passing of the new law, so it’s no surprise and even though the governor is a politically correct type, she had no choice in the matter except to sign the law. Why should anybody be surprised by Obama’s bluster and scolding of the people of the State of Arizona. His pressure on that state will hurt. As Fred says, God Bless the people of Arizona.

  12. Texasperated says:

Candidate Obama: We will tackle immigration reform within the first 100 days of taking office.

President Obama: We will tackle immigration reform within our first year.

This week: Immigration reform is a violation of civil rights.

Fred, why can’t folks figure this man out? He’s a crafty but purely typical politician.

Here’s an idea: how about instead of spending my hard earned tax dollars fighting this AZ law, Obama should direct the justice department to either fish or cut bait on the terrorist trials in Noo Yawk Siddy.

  13. Vigilante says:

    “Noo Yawk Siddy.”

    Exasperated, I like that!!

Reminds me of the New York echo

    “Helllllllllllllllooooooooooo…………..”

    “Shut the F**K upppppppppppppp”

    LOL

  14. Robocop says:

As the child of LEGAL immigrants who had to jump hoops for the right to get in to the United States, I fully support this law. Detractors want to use race as an argument against this law. As a so called “minority”, I do not see this as the case. I see this law as merely an enforcement of existing laws. How could a court strike down a law that enforces existing laws? I know, I know, very easily, but it makes no sense.

A note of interest is how many of the people protesting in Arizona do not even live in that state! What would you call that, protester federalism?!? Arizona chose this law, let them decide!

  15. extex_cop says:

    I Love It ! ! Go Arizona ! !

OK Gov. Perry and all the Members of our State Legislation…let’s get your a**es in gear and get our own law on the books here in Texas. It’s time to send all these law breaking illegals home.
You know when you get right down to it….Why would they really want to become citizens? Are they in that much of a hurry to start paying taxes, paying for their own medical care, paying for education….in others words…giving up all those freebees they now enjoy. As soon as they become a citizen they have to have taxes taking out of their pay checks…plus paying for all their medical care…once that happens they will not have enough money to feed the family. They will have to ask the owner for more pay…at which time he will fire them and hire other illegals that will work for less.
I would like to become an illegal…maybe then I too can become President of the United States.

The only reason our politicians want them to become citizens is so they can get more tax money coming in from them. Once they become good tax paying citizens then their voices will no longer be heard…they will be just like any other person.

  16. Patrick Sperry says:

It’s kind of nice living in a small town, and having your state rep living here. Not to mention that he shops the same stores…

I walked into Sports Lure about half an hour ago, and he was there, and already being asked about why he had not led the way, and introduced similar legislation this past session.

Seems that Wyoming has odd and even years, and you can only introduce some things one year (This year was budget only) but next year will be something else altogether. We shall see…

  17. HoosierArmyMom says:

I can add nothing more than Fred has said and the commentors here have said. Just sending the LOVE to Gov. Brewer and the great state of Arizona and hoping other states follow through with the same. They made it a great day for America’s real citizens, both born and naturalized the LEGAL way.

  18. MissBeth says:

Yeah US! I mean that as “us” not United States, being a Tucsonan. Gov. Brewer is not my favorite governor. However…that being said, look who her predecessor was-Janet Napolitano. The same Napolitano who has butted heads with Sheriff Joe for forever. Gov. Brewer COULD have let the bill sit on her desk and let it automatically become law today. Instead, it seems she has a flair for the dramatic, letting it sit until the last minute while people worked themselves into a frenzy. And, of course, giving the busloads of illegals from LA time to get here.

The murder of Robert Krentz and his dog (yep, they even killed his dog!) seems to have been the final flashpoint Arizona needed to get off her butt and DO something. We have a school district (TUSD) who has a “special” ethnic studies course teaching MeCha and La Raza values to students. The district is broke but won’t cut that program. Naturally, the schools emptied out with the students protesting. And guess who’s on that school board? Why Raul Grijalva’s daughter-holding the seat he held when he systematically ruined the school district, one that had been one of the finest in the land prior to his election to it. One of the teachers of this curriculum looked at our white morning talk show host and said, “he doesn’t matter he’s a white gringo and all white males are pedophiles”. Read that sentence again. That’s what the students are learning.

There is an election coming up in November for a special sales tax to bail out this school district. And these teachers, in this atmosphere, expect it to pass easily. They are that arrogant-insult the citizens, continue these ridiculous ethnic studies, lead the kids out of the classrooms to protest laws (which have NOT been read or studied or they’d realize how stupid their words and actions are)-and soak us for more taxes.

Raul Grijalva is calling for convention boycotts of Arizona over this. When Arizona has been hit hardest by the economic drains of these illegals. Oh, and were any of you aware Grijalva has signed loyalty documents with Mexico? Then he closes his Tucson and Yuma offices over threats of violence.

We have a county public defender who delights in encouraging children to beat the crap out of a pinata of Sheriff Joe, eventually beheading the pinata, and this defender parades around the parking lot holding the head a la Nick Berg or Daniel Pearl. She also has signed loyalty documents with Mexico. Yet the county supervisors allow her to keep her job. Her name is Isabel Garcia.

We had a governor who declared Arizona a sanctuary state-a “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy handcuffing our law enforcement. That governor is now head of DHS.

All Gov. Brewer has done is “revoke” the don’t ask don’t tell unwritten mandates. She has taken the handcuffs off law enforcement. After reading the bill (it’s really not that long, only 17 pages, perfect reading length for “throne” time) there are provisions specifically restricting “profiling” for “profiling” sake. It simply means when someone is arrested in the process of committing a crime, identification has to be produced. You have to produce ID when you write a check, when you’re stopped for a DUI, when you make a charge card purchase, when you vote, when you rent a car or register at a hotel, when you open a bank account-think of how often you are asked to produce ID. The ACTUAL profiling occurred when a “brown” was engaged in any of these activities but WEREN’T required to produce ID for fear of violating their immigration status. Now they must, just like everyone else.

Asshole in the white house can bitch all he likes. Arizona, though, is not a Harvard professor screaming racism and Arizona “don’t roll” with beer summits. Too many people have said let the mf**** say something, he can go fuck himself. This is OUR state and he has NO say here. In fact, he can just keep his ass away from here. THAT’S how angry Arizona is.

Two more bills waiting for signature or making their way through our legislature are this: in order to appear on national ballots, any candidate (not just presidential) must present proof they are eligible to hold the office to which they have been nominated or they won’t appear on Arizona’s ballot, beginning with the presidential election of 2012 AND the parental rights bill stating parents have the rights to raise and educate their children as they see fit without government interference, including home schooling.

Obama’s pissed because he won’t appear on Arizona’s ballot in 2012 unless he produces his “creds”-legally verifiable “creds”.

I’m so loving being an Arizonan right now.

  19. Texasperated says:

    MissBeth,

This is the second, no third, thing I’ve learned to love about AZ. The first is open carry. We NEED to get that passed in Texas, Fred. The second is you don’t mess around with dimwit savings time. If somebody wants to go to work an hour earlier in the day, let that be between him and his employer. But for the rest of us, leave our clocks alone! And now this …

Besides which I happen to love the Verde Valley.

  20. Gene says:

I for one can’t really understand why so many people don’t get the LAW OF THE LAND !!! Arizona is only trying it’s best to go by the law. I also am very ashamed that I live in a land where our president try’s to inflame the true americans to belive this farce he is trying! Are we gonna let the minority rule this country? I don’t want to be under One World Order where we have no rights. Obama thinks we are naive or stupid to believe that we should change to his way of ruling. If we are to be in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave we as Americans should be trying to impeach this president and very SOON. Redistribute the wealth to all points of the globe and have us living in HELL for his beliefs, WAKE UP AMERICA before it will be too late! The president of Mexico should be trying his best to upgrade his country and not come here where Obama is wanting us to be like Mexico!
May God forgive us for being so foolish. No Obama this is not an Islamic nation!
